"I got pregnant when I was just 17 years old. This forced me to drop out of school at the sixth grade in primary school. Being so young, it was a challenge raising up the child alone. This forced me out of home to the urban area to look for a source of income. I am now married with two children and raising them is what has been my biggest hardship; given that I depend on my spouse who is employed as a shop keeper while I am jobless at home."

"Receiving this money means continued education for my family. I plan to achieve this by Spending Kshs.42,000 to buy goats of Borana origin at Kshs.6,000 each. This is because they are marketable and therefore, will enable me to have an asset that will use to educate my children.I will also produce milk for my own consumption."

"The lack of a reliable source of income for my household is generally the biggest hardship that I have ever faced in my life. I have all time desired to have a reliable source of income for our household but this has never been possible and my husband is doing some casual jobs that earn him utmost $5 per day, an income that doesn't fully cater to our needs. This has forced me to engage in very odd jobs like vending charcoal, a work that is energy-intensive and this has affected me health-wise since sometimes, I complain of chest pain."

"Lack of money is the biggest hardship I have ever faced. Back in 2013, I joined a tailoring college. Due to lack of money, I dropped out of the school after the first year. I started working as a house help with the aim of getting money to rejoin my tailoring course. The money I was getting was not enough to cater for my personal needs and to save for my fees. Since then, I have been trying to do all I can to get money for me to go finish my course but I have not been successful. Currently, I am employed as a tailor though I lack the basics. This makes it very hard for me to get well paying clients."

"My health has deteriorated due to sickness. I have been suffering from chronic ulcers since last year. I have visited several clinics without any success. This has hindered me from working and provide for my family's needs such as food. It is also expensive because I have to buy 1 dose at 3000 shillings which last for at least 1 month. Therefore, sickness is the biggest challenge I have faced."

"Receiving this money means taking my child to college. My firstborn completed secondary school level 2 years ago and scored an average grade. Her ambition since she was young has been to become a teacher, but due to financial challenges, this dream has never been fulfilled. To achieve this, I intend to spend 60,000 shillings to pay for the whole year so that she can study with ease. I believe that later she will be employed and support us. Other than that, I am planning to spend the remaining transfer to practice livestock keeping with the hope that they are going to multiple and sell them in case I fail to raise school fees."
