"I am a school based student at Kisii university. I study a degree course in education . We have been struggling to pay for school fees because Iam a self sponsored student ,my husband has been working around the clock to look for school fees . We were forced to sell 0.5 acres of land to clear 2nd year fees. University education is very expensive , we recently hold a fundraiser to cater for the same which enabled me to clear the last academic year fees. Iam currently in fourth year and a total fees of USD 1030 is required. This help could not have come at a better time because Iam assured of clearing the fees and actualize my dream of being a substantive teacher."

"Two oxen and a plough is what I have always wished to own. This is because I will be able to till more land and earn income as well when I plough other people's land. Receiving this money will bring to reality this wish. I will set aside 400 USD for this. Improved yield will ensure that my children get more food. Ploughing an acre of land will earn me around 20 USD which will be a big boost for my income."

"The day I received my transfers was the happiest day in my life. I had been eagerly waiting for this transfers since I had been promised that I would be receiving them before date 15th and that is the same date I received it. We depend on livestock farming since our land is small and we only practice subsistence farming where I plant maize and beans. With the cash at my disposal, I knew that I would be able to buy some cows and practice my passion which is livestock keeping."

"I used to live in a small two room house and since I could not sleep under the same roof with my children, they used to sleep in the kitchen. Mostly, they would get flu during the rainy season as the roof to my kitchen was leaking. When I received my transfer, I spent $ 400 to build a two bedroom house for my family. My children will be using our previous house as their bedroom and study room. Having built a more spacious house, I realized that I did not have enough seats and my living room looked like a hall. As a result, I decided to purchase two sets of seats at $ 40. In addition to this, I bought one sack of maize and other household necessities at $60. Using the remaining $ 47, I bought some decent clothes for my family as a way of celebrating the good news."
