Philip
received a $239 second payment.
"I'm a father of six children. I live alone with my spouse and children. We live by means of farming. Supporting my children has been my major challenge so far. Farming can't take proper care of all of us.Upon receiving my transfer, I covered all of my children's tuition.I also bought a few bags of cement to complete the plastering of my house, which I'm forever grateful to Givedirectly."

Thomas
received a $239 third payment.
"I'm a health care provider who had been working in Jorproken town for about 4 years as a nurse midwife. Before, life was not really fine in that my salary took about two to three months to come. The small amount I earned couldn't accomplish my aim of becoming a home owner. It has caused me a lot of challenges as a father to support my family either.
But with the help of Givedirectly funding, I was able to purchase a piece of land and now, with the third transfer, I'm about to start my projects."

Felister
received a $440 initial payment.
"My husband and I depend on charcoal vending as a way of earning a living. We are fortunate enough to have four children. We had earlier been promised we would receive an unconditional transfer from GiveDirectly. My husband and I had the idea of building a decent house for our family's sake. This is because the one that we had was in very bad shape, we used to cover the roof of our house with polythene paper because we could not afford an iron Sheet. This was affecting us especially, during the rainy season. This proved the need of having a more fit living space. Therefore, upon receiving our transfer, we opted to use $350 on purchasing building materials for the house construction. Secondly, I paid school fees of $200 and bought foodstuffs with the remaining amount. I am so happy that finally, I was able to build a decent house for my family which seemed like a wild goose chase before due to our financial status. For this, I am personally grateful to Give Directly."

Linner
received a $440 initial payment.
"One of the biggest differences in my life today is that my children have been able to go to school and are studying comfortably since I was able to clear their tuition fees. Moreover, I am now able to harvest rainwater since I bought a bigger water tank which had been a challenge before due to financial constraints. I am more than happy and contented with my current accomplishments."

Kadzo
received a $28 sixth payment.
"After purchasing and settling my own land, courtesy of the cash transfer, my next aim is to start rearing livestock. Keeping these animals will gradually build my wealth, and ensure that I have a ready and reliable stream of income in the future, even after the transfers cease. Though I bear huge financial obligations, I wish to have bought at least two goats by the end of the year. I trust the upcoming transfers to enable me to accomplish this goal. "

Kache
received a $28 sixth payment.
"Currently, my focus is on building a shed for my three goats. Since I acquired them, they have been sheltering under the same roof as me, which I presume is not healthy. Besides, as these animals reproduce, they will need a larger space for the offspring, which my one-room house cannot provide. I would be happy if I could save enough money from future transfers to construct the shed in a span of a year. "

Sadaka
received a $28 tenth payment.
"I have always desired to own a wooden bed and a cozy mattress but lack of finances and financial constraints burden me. The sisal-twined bed that I use is old and broken on one side, which gives me uncomfortable sleep and deprives me of sufficient rest. Before the year ends, I wish to have bought a more decent bed and a fitting mattress so that I can finally enjoy my nights. As I save for these items, I will also save towards the college fees of my daughter. I would be happy if she graduates next year having had a smooth learning experience with no frequent interruptions to pick up tuition money. "

Daisy
received a $144 initial payment.
"The most significant difference in my daily life is the generous support I received from GiveDirectly, which helped me get through the difficult times with my child in the hospital. It was unfortunate that I was unable to spend as I had promised myself, but I am grateful that the money was used to save my child's life after a serious burn on his body. It is a miracle that I have been able to buy food, pay all of my medical bills, and have a bed for the past month. I am grateful to GiveDirectly and hopeful that my plans will still be realized."
