Hellen
received a $452 second payment.
"My life is different in that, before I never had Livestock, household goods in my house and I used to sleep in a dusty house. I'm now very happy that the transfers I got from GiveDirectly have enabled me to get whatever I never had in my Life and I'm sleeping in smooth cool house. Thanks to GiveDirectly."

Alice
received a $199 initial payment.
"I spent my transfers to pay school fees for my daughter who is in form three. I wash clothes for people for a living and my husband depends on construction jobs to fend for us. Most of the time we are never assured of these jobs whenever we set out to look for work. There are days we get lucky and find available work, and some days we don't get these jobs. We have struggled a lot financially especially with our two children in High school. Paying school fees has been our greatest challenge and our children have to be sent home for school fees most of the time. I was really happy that I managed to keep my children in school this January."

Chrispin
received a $199 initial payment.
"I had not seen the message at all on the day that the transfers came in. I had just woken up when I received a call from a friend of mine who asked me if I had received my transfers. I did not have any idea that the transfers were sent on that day; i must have still been asleep when the message came in. I checked my phone at that moment and I saw the message. I was really happy. I had to confirm again that the message was from Give Directly just to be sure that it was not money that was sent to my phone by mistake. I was so excited and I immediately started to think of how I would spend the money."
