How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference is that I have been able to finish the construction of my house. This is a dream come true. My family now enjoys the comfort of space. Initially, we lived in a tiny house that had no windows with only one exit door. It used to be dark and very boring. But thanks to GD we currently live in a beautiful, spacious and well-lighted house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly has lifted the living standards of many of my community members. I can evidently see the joy and peace on the faces of the people. Unlike before you could smell trouble in the air. Many homes have improved there shelters and the number of children attending school has also increased. GD has done nothing unpleasing in my opinion but goodness and undeserved favors are what I have observed from GD to our communities.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer to improve the house that I had built using the first transfers but went short of resources. I bought steel windows and doors to finish fitting them in the house. This will beautify the look and even beef up the security. I also bought new sofa seats and s coffee table. Initially, we used to sit on a mat and serve food on the floor. I could get embarrassed whenever I hosted visitors at home.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I am now able to build a more spacious house that would accommmodate me with my children in a respectful manner. I will also open a small food business to generate income for the family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening while cooking food for my family with my children at the fire place.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship is sharing the little house with my children whom I feel that needs privacy. I am also facing difficulty in feeding them since our farm hardly produces enough food for a whole season.
