How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The difference in my life is the improvement of my shelter. This has been a major problem, I kept on wondering where I could get resources to improve my house but all my efforts were in vain. But I thank God for GD, through the support, I was not only able to build a better a house but also managed to repair my motorbike and with it, I can keep on generating income to help me sustain my family and even get enough for other developments.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD has improved the lives of many in the community. I have seen many grass-thatched houses improved to iron roofs and the number of children attending school in the community has also increased. To me, this is a positive impact on our lives. I have not recorded anything that GD has not done well so far.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my recent transfers, I spent most of it on building a better house for my family. We used to live in a smaller house that had a grass thatched roof. It used to leak whenever it rained. Besides that, I bought a few hens as I am planning to start a poultry business to help me generate more income. The remaining amount I repaired my motorcycle to enable me to resume my motorbike taxi business.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy iron sheets so that I can repair my leaking roof, part of it will be spent on buying a pool table so that I can venture into that business and the remaining amount will be spent on buying a cupboard for my house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is the morning when I go to work. This makes me happy because I am able to make some cash as a motorcycle rider which can be used to buy food for my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face in my life is that I currently work for someone as a motorbike transport rider and the business is not offering much profit hence I find myself being left with very little to support my family with.
