James
received a $22 nineteenth payment.
"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I shall have fixed an iron sheet roof and replace the grassed that one by buying building materials every month with the sent transfer. This is because at the moment the leaky grass-thatched roof of my house is in a deplorable condition which has made it risky for our habitation."

Bernard
received a $22 nineteenth payment.
"In the next six months after completing the house, I want to buy a sheep as an investment. I would want to have livestock in my home just like my neighbours and I know how they can bail me out during the time of financial crisis. When it reproduces, I will have a number which is a source of wealth and later sell them to buy a cow."

Jacob
received a $22 seventeenth payment.
"In the next six months, my life will change in that I will have built my own house. Currently, I am staying at my uncle's house. I have come of age to build my own but due to low income, I could not buy building materials and build a house. This is because the little I used to harvest, was all we depended on with my grandmother to sustain our lives. Now that I have realised an increase in my harvest, I will sell the surplus to buy building materials for building a house for myself."

Sharon
received a $529 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that we have boosted our business that we were doing before we received the money. My spouse used to borrow money from friends and relatives to conduct his business of buying cows and selling at the market at a slightly higher price to earn a profit to support our family in meeting the basic needs. This activity was not easy because sometimes there were no profits and sometimes he could not get the money from friends. Lack of capital in any other business can stop the continuity of that project. Sometimes there were losses and my spouse could get a lot of pressure from the relatives who he had borrowed the money from and this was stressing us all as a family. Currently, my spouse is at peace of mind and his business is doing great he no longer gets pressure and all the profits that he gets from the business are not shared among the friends like before. We have started some saving culture to gather for the emergency and school fees for our children. We are so happy because our living standard has changed compared to the previous one that we had."

Rodgers
received a $529 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that seeing my mother living in a decent a house makes me feel happy and at peace. I feel relieved because she won't be walking at night begging for shelter which was so risky and embarrassing at the same time. Were it not for GiveDirectly my mother would still be suffering. I thank God because with this help I managed to build a decent house and took her to the hospital since she was also sickly and old. I always pray for GiveDirectly because they have improved the health of my mother and there is hope for her to live longer."

Zawadi
received a $529 initial payment.
"I saw the notification from GiveDirectly early in the morning on my phone as I was going through messages. As I went through it, I could feel the joy and happiness that filled my heart that morning, indeed it was such a blessing to me as I welcomed the new day. I was thankful to them since this was a sign of peace again in my life. I knew the money could allow me to fully acquire the piece of land that I had not completed its payment due to lack of enough resources."
