"The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have been in position to start up a business of selling shoes. On good days, I get UGX 70,000 that I save part for acquiring cows in the near future. Secondly, I have been in position to hire 3 pieces of land that will boost my crop production and in so doing I will be in position to support my family with ease. Previously, I had a challenge of providing for my family because I didn't have a stable source of income."

"In the next six months, I know I will have another type of livestock in my compound. I have not stopped where I have reached because I know I can still get more. My desire is to sell part of the sheep so that I can buy a cow. One of the reasons why I would want to have a cow is because it is easier to maintain and keep. It requires very little resources to take care of and when I have any financial emergency, I have something I can use easily to raise money without struggling and taking unnecessary debts. I know my life will be much better than it is now because of the transfers."

"I will be having an iron-roofed house in the next six months. Since we started receiving these transfers, there is no single month where GD did not send me my transfers. For this reason, I have a savings account where I have been saving my transfers for the past four months. My goal is to use the savings to buy building materials such as nail and iron sheets. I am now living in a grass thatched house whose roof is leaking and as we are approaching the long rains, I know it will get worse due to strong winds in my area in the long rains season. This is why I have decided to save to build an iron-roofed house so that I may handle the housing issue once and for all."

"Ever since I started receiving my transfers, I have been using most of it to pay for a catering course which I have been undertaking for the last one and half year. This has been my dream but since I only depended on a small income from cloth and shoe business, I was only able to raise enough o meet my needs. With the transfers, I managed to pay for catering course which I am now done with. This is the biggest difference GD transfers has brought into my life."

"My life is currently different because I won livestock and my crop farm is well attended to. I bought a heifer that I now feed and planted maize that is now doing so well and is about to be harvested. As a matter of fact, I am now employed to manage my own farm! Initially, I used to roam about in the community looking for work on other people's farms. I am now busy on my own farm which I believe will bring me more returns than menial jobs."

"Farming is our main source of income as a family thus my husband and I usually struggle hard in farming to achieve better returns in each and every undertaking. We had wished to practice livestock keeping to boost our farm outputs but the little income we had never made this possible. The biggest difference in my daily life since I received my transfer is the added asset in form of livestock courtesy of GiveDirectly. I feel so happy to see them knowing that I soon will cut off my daily household expenditure since will have milk from our own. The calves to come will always act as our financial security and help in meeting my children's school fees and other family necessities."

"With the transfers from GiveDirectly, I was able to expand my dairy project by buying a heifer worth KES 25000. I believe that it will be calving soon and my family will get enough milk for our consumption and sale to earn an income. I will be using this money to pay for my children's education and to meet some of our basic needs. Also, I have been able to build a decent house for my family. We had been living in a grass thatched house with weak walls and leaking roofs. Because of this, our beddings would at times get soaked in rainwater whenever it rained when no one was at home. Having achieved all this makes my life different from how it would have been had I not received the transfers."
