"Lack of stable income has been our biggest hardship. Since subsistence farming has been our source of income, unfavorable weather conditions have affected the output. Recently due to prolonged drought, we harvest two sacks of maize in a 4-acre piece of land. With this I am supposed to pay school fees and also to buy medicine for my sick children."

The only source of our income is poultry farming and subsistence farming but due to prolong drought and diseases it has not been doing well. Receiving this money will assist to pay schools for my children on time. This will give them humble time to concentrate in their studies unlike before mostly they were at home due to arrears."

"Food security has been my biggest hardship. Getting food has been a challenge because I have to purchase food to feed the family. The little I harvest from my farm can only last for 4 months. This is on a good season. Sometimes I hardly get food from my farm. Lack of rains and sometimes floods leaves me with nothing to feed my children. I am forced to do casual jobs; which are rare to find ,in order to get money to buy food. Lack of water for domestic use worsens the situation. We go looking for water in very far places. Life is really tough."
