"The biggest hardship i always face is hunger,i get K500 per day from my piece jobs which is less than $1 ,this money is far from enough to feed 4 people,as a result we settled on one meal a day and we eat two meals when i get more than k500 which is not a constant thing. A side from hunger we lack a good shelter this house i live in is in poor condition and it does need a renovation service if that makes sense at all,me and my children wear shabby clothes we sleep on the floor with no beddings,i dream of having a bed someday and GiveDirectly is making that dream to come true right now."

"The biggest hardship i always face is shelter,my glass fatched house really gives me hard time during rain season and i would love to build a new house with ironsheet, secondly its hunger,i relay on making clay balls that are used by fishermen at the lake and i get far from enough to actually feed all my 5 children,i would love to start a reliable business though I'm not sure yet to which business i will start, but please receive my gratitude for I'm super excited for this programme."

"The biggest hardship i always face is sourcing money for food(hunger) it is really challenging to go out there and search for piece jobs just to feed the children mind you I'm a single mother of 4and what kills me most each and every day is being an able to buy healthy food,my children have been suffering from malnutrition all because i don't provide enough healthy food for them,as a mother i feel like I'm not doing so much but also what can a poor woman like me do in order to earn a little bit more?it has been had for me and reaching this far is really GOD's kindness."

"I have a house which i built 4 years ago using money that i made from selling groundnuts. The money was not enough to afford an iron sheet roof so i used grass then. When i recieved the money, i saw this as an opportunity to buy 5kgs of nails, 25 ironsheets, wires and 500 bricks to fix a veranda. All of these are to fix the roof. I also bought 2 bags of fertilizers and 5 bags of maize to keep for future use."

"When i recieved the money, i knew that now it was my chance to own things i couldnot on my own. My husband has a small bussiness of selling assorted kitchen items in markets. The profits are just enough to feed and cloth us as a family. When the money came i bought blankets , 1 for myself the other for my children. I also bought a mattress so that we have a good sleeping place as we sleep on a mat. The remaining money i am planning on buying bricks to build a house the future."
