"Having my construction of a new house completed is so far the biggest difference in my daily life. My children are enjoying the spacious reading space and later sleeping in a clean room, unlike the old kitchen that had been so squeezed up and not well maintained. I am grateful and still hopeful that I will accomplish a lot with the next transfer."

"After my husband's long illness that he finally succumbed to, I had been struggling alone to ensure that all my six children get all their basic needs and their school fees paid in full to keep them in their schools. This has never been that easier and at one point, I had to bring in a cow from the relative to just keep on my field to provide us with mil and save me the expensive cost that I had been incurring while buying. I had been struggling to make some savings towards buying the same cow but has been so hard since there had been several demands from schools apart from the school fees that I had been trying to raise. I was glad when I received this transfer as I spent KES 36000 to pay back and change the ownership of the cow. With the remaining amount, I spent it on settling school fees for my sons - one in the college, one in secondary school, and the other four currently in primary school. In total, they all needed a total of KES 20000 and I was glad to have been able to raise the amount."

"With the first transfer I received, I spent a huge portion of it on livestock investment. I had been hoping to increase milk production from my livestock since the small amount I had been producing had never been enough for us to use with my family. On receiving the money, I spent KES40000 on obtaining a goat worth KES 5000 and a cow at KES 35000. I a,m glad that the lactating cow I obtained is currently serving us with enough milk compared to the less that I would get before. I also replenished the foodstuff reserve as the maize we had would not have kept us any longer. I, therefore, bought two sacks of maize each at KES 2700. With the remaining amount, I obtained other household goods and also clothing for my family."

"With my family of six, we had been dependent on casual labor and subsistence farming that did not earn us enough income to invest in new projects. Paying school fees was a great challenge as I am currently having my firstborn son In the University, second one is currently attached amidst his college studies. I spent KEs 20000 in paying school fees, and KES 9000 for the university student's upkeep, equipped the second born with KES6000 as he needed some equipment useful in his place of work too. I also obtained 3 sacks of maize at KES 9000 as I had been buying them over time in small quantities that were quite expensive. With the remaining amount, I used KES 3500 on buying a goat and the remaining KES7000 on obtaining clothing for all my children as each one of them needed at least a pair of a new outfits."

"Living alone in my house since I don't have a family yet had not been that hard for me. On receiving the transfer, budgeting for the same was not that hard since I had no one who would differ in my choices. I spentKES25000 on obtaining iron sheets and paying for the labor force on the construction of a new kitchen. I had only one bigger house that I had been sleeping in and could not cook inside as I had been using firewood that emit a lot of fumes. I also managed to invest in livestock after obtaining a bull at KES24000. I will be rearing it for some months before I sell at a bit higher price enough to buy two heifers. With the remaining amount, I bought my clothing and also foodstuff. I am grateful that I had been able to accomplish a lot with just the first transfer and looking forward to doing a lot more after receiving the coming transfer."

"I spent my transfer to invest in goat rearing by purchasing 5 goats for KES 16,000. I have wished to venture into this activity so that I may have something to rely on whenever I am faced with any financial crisis. Similarly, it's a future investment for the family it will assist me in supporting my 4 children's educational needs. In addition, I spent KES 15,000 to clear the debts that I had been owing to my neighbor who was threaten to sue us. This was giving me a lot of stress since I had nothing to settle the debt. Furthermore, I used 5000 to clear my children's fee arrears, they had been at home for a long time due to a fees problem. The remaining amount assisted me to purchase sufficient food for the family since we are experiencing drought in our area."
