"I am more than happy to receive this money as I believe it will help me buy some food as I didn't harvest enough maize during the last harvest season due to lack of money for fertilizer. I also intend to buy some fertilizers for the next growing season so that I harvest enough food and do not have to starve anymore"

"The money will mean a lot to me, I will be able to buy fertiliser and some other farm inputs to help me harvest more than I usually do. I will also use the money to start a small business. I am old and I get sick most of the times due to old age, this makes it hard for me to source money. I sell brooms and doghnurt in order to earn money. I sell a bunch of brooms at 2000 each and at the end of the month I earn about MK 40000 plus the money I get from selling doghnurt."

"The money will mean a lot to me, it will help me buy food, blanket and will finish my house. The money that I earn is not enough to provide for the family, I earn about MK30000 per month, which I only use to buy food and other things for the family which is not enough. I have 7 children to take care of which means I have to earn money that will be enough to provide for all the children and this is hard for me."

"The money will mean alot to me, it will help me build a new house ,which I am not able to do now cause I earn less money. I earn about MK 10000 per month which is not enough to buy food and build a new house. I have a child and a wife and the money that I get from work I use it to buy food and clothes. I drop out of school when I was in standard 3, so the work that I do doesn't pay much."

"I did not manage to attend school because my parents were old that time and very poor. We were born eight children and am the last born. The time I was born, I found my parents already old and were being helped but older siblings. Due to that it was difficult for them to send us me to school as it was far. If I was to go further with my education I would have been a doctor's by now."

"My biggest hardship is luck of a spacious house for my family. Regardless of my poverty situation, sleeping in a good and spacious house with my children is a dream I have been with for more than 5 years."

"The biggest hardship that I have faced is long-termillness. I developed ulcers in my stomach which started in 2016. The illness makes me choose the type of food to eat.I am not supposed to eat most legumes which are mostly available locally. The situation has only improved this year."

"I have planned to establish a hand to mouth business where I will purchase few bags of rice to be sold in the community per cup to keep us on a daily basis. I will use certain amount of my cash transfer to pay my children school fees as well if I am blessed to a recipient."
