"My life is much different in that the cash transfers offloaded the medical debt burden that I had accumulated over the time. I am happy that I was able to treat my two sickler children with part of the cash transfers. I also purchased two oxen that I will use to till and plough my farm lands. In the past, I did not have money on standby that could enable me buy medicines whenever they could fall sick."

"The biggest difference is that I am happy because I was able to clear all my debts within a short time. This could have not been possible had I missed out on the cash transfer. In addition to this, I am happy because I was also able to buy medicines for my ill mother. She is recovering and getting stronger each day. Before I received the cash transfers, my life was surrounded by debts which were burdening me."

Borrowing will have start worrying how I will pay back the money but right now, I worry no more because I assured of the monthly transfers from Givedirectly. I am so happy."

"With the transfers, I have always had quality medication because I am able to pay for the same. Before the transfers, I would really struggle to get money to pay for medication. Anytime I or any member of my family was sick, if we did not borrow, we would have to take herbs as medicine because we could not raise money to buy drugs or go to the hospital. GD transfers have helped me get fast treatment from good hospitals and I rarely get sick because the main problem was dealt with well."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I'm a proud owner of two cows which I have never owned. My wife died two years ago and I have never come to terms thus it affected my health. Since this transfer, I'm now able to get medication with ease since I can afford, I never used to access medication from the hospital because of lack of money and also because I don't have the energy to work for longer hours. The medicine is so expensive because the government hasn't subsidized yet. I'm now able to eat well and with better health."

"I spent part of my first transfer to buy a pair of oxen to help me improve my farming practices for better harvests. Previously I was using farm tools that were not efficient and I would manage to till a small piece of land, and for me to cultivate a large piece of land, then I would hire from my neighbours who had the oxen. hiring was expensive to me and at times I left a large piece of acreage uncultivated. I am happy that through the pair of oxen I acquired, then I will be able to cultivate more land for better harvests. Also, the pair will help me in fetching water from long distances for domestic use. I also bought a medicine kit for my cows so as to treat them in case of any infections and diseases. I also purchased three goats which I am certain that once they reproduce and increase in number, then I will be able to sell them to meet any expenses that fall due."
