"Giving us unrestricted cash transfers, in my opinion, was a terrific idea because it allowed people to address a variety of requirements. I have noticed a significant improvement in our village as a result of the majority of students who had stopped attending school becoming enrolled again. While some people purchased cows, others made investments in businesses. The village is now better and more tranquil. On the other hand, everyone seems to be applauding the organization, therefore I have not heard of any concerns about it."

"Upon receiving my second transfer, I opted to purchase a dairy cow worth $400. With it, I knew that I would be able to attract extra income from it and that my children would have enough milk. I had a cow before, but I wanted to add more for it to attract more income and for sustainability. Secondly, I bought two goats for $10. I work in the transport industry as a driver, married and together we have three children, My wife is a consistent farmer and the one taking care of our animals at home. I am so happy for the support that uplifted my living standards amazingly."

"I am an independent woman with no children; I depend on my business of selling second-hand clothes to make ends meet. When I received my second transfer, I opted to buy a healthy dairy cow worth $340. This is because I wanted something that would be sustainable and also able to earn an income from it. It was not possible to get a huge sum of money to initiate this goal because of the nature of my business, which is small. Secondly, I bought two goats for $150. I knew that with the two projects, I can comfortably boost my income. I am forever grateful for the support that forever boosted my living standards."

"The transfers means so much for me. I'm planning to build a house at $80. At least this will be a discent house to live in. I also look forward to buying a bed and mattress since I am sleeping on hard wood and cow skin which irritates and makes it difficult to sleep. I will also buy some goats @$100 and whatever will remain I will buy food; a sack of maize @$50 some rice and cooking oil."

"I have a dairy-keeping project, This has earned me some income from the sales of milk. I have always wished to expand it by purchasing more dairy cows but this was not possible because I did not have enough money then. I rely on small scale farming whereby I plant maize and beans but this is majorly for consumption. When I received the second transfer I spent $350 on purchasing a dairy cow. This added me the number of liters of milk that I always sell every day. This means I get some additional income to meet my daily household basic needs. I am so happy because were it not GiveDirectly all this could have taken quite a dome time to achieve. The remaining amount of money I spent on food and household items that we were missing at that time. GiveDirectly has changed our living standard to be much better."

"I buy milk daily from my neighbors and this is so costly for me since I do not have a steady source of income. I depend on casual jobs in the village to earn some money to meet the daily needs of my family. I spent $280 on purchasing a heifer. I am so grateful because I have always wished to own a cow. When it gives birth in the new few months I will get enough milk for my family and cut the daily cost of buying milk. I spent $ 3 per week on buying milk. My children would get enough milk, Besides that, I will sell the surplus milk to earn some money to meet additional basic needs. I paid $100 for the dowry. I have a few balances yet to clear soon. I am so happy because I had promised my inlaws to pay them on time, This brought respect and understanding between us and our inlaws. I saved $70 in merry go round group that we started in our village. When I get my savings I will invest in a poutry-keeping project. The remaining amount of money I spent on food and other basic household items."

"I am 84 ,and so as a result of old age and failing health I cannot engage in any meaningful economic activity that can give me disposable income. It is against this backdrop that I intend to buy a dairy cow worth $400 that will give me milk for household consumption and sell the rest to get income since I do not have another livelihood. I will use the rest of the money to seek for further medication in a better hospital like Tenwek Hospital, their services are much better and have qualified doctors, this money will assist me afford the hospital fees and get the best attention,I had wanted to go there initially but I did not have the money.I really long to restore my health and resume my normal life."

"I have a new goal that I never thought of before receiving transfers from GiveDirectly. Having bought a dairy cow and built a house and with my wife almost completing her course in hair dressing, I am now planning to go back to school too. I had had to drop out of it just when I started so as to pave way for my wife to complete her course. I believe this course will be very helpful to us as a family since it will make us more independent financially going into the future. Right now, I depend largely on painting to earn a living and this job provides me with just enough to sustain the needs of my family. I plan to do this in the next four months since my wife shall have completed her course."
