"I spent my third transfer on paying school fees for my children in secondary school. They were sponsored by someone in my village ,but unfortunately the sponsor passed on. I also bought a cow. The cow may sometimes help me milk production and I might sell and help me in school fees payment for my children."

"I spent a portion of my third transfer on construction materials which I used in building a permanent house. Even though the house is not yet complete, I have hopes that I will finally complete it. The far Give Directly has brought me is worth appreciating. It has lifted me from the dust where I slept in a house that was almost collapsing with a lot of fears for my life. It was such a hard life which I never thought could come to an end. I really thank GD."

"I spent my third transfer on the continuation of the construction of a new house which had stalled because of money reasons. My former house was small and was not skillfully built. It was made up of only six iron sheets. I am happy now that I manged to complete my house and move in. I also bought seats for my new house. I did not have seats in the old house. I am not ashamed when visitors come to my house because now they have somewhere to sit on."

"I used to stay in an eight iron sheet house that could not comfortable accommodate me and my family. My children had to sleep in their grandmother's house which was hectic more so when it rained. I also had difficulties when I had visitors as the house was too squeezed, so when I received my third transfer, I built a forty iron sheet roofed house. This is spacious enough, my children have a room where they sleep and I no longer panic when I have visitors. The remaining amount I spent on buying more utensils and saved some for school fees for my children, and I am happy they were never sent out of school for school fees. I also know that I will have a cow soon after I bought a goat that will reproduce and give me cows after selling them."

"When I received my third transfer, I really thanked God and Give Directly for the timely support. I was living in this kind of a house which was made of secondhand iron sheets with pores all over. The house was seriously leaking which forced me to seek for hostage in the neighborhood whenever it rained. I was glad the transfer enabled me purchase enough pieces of iron sheets which I used in renovating the roof. Secondly, I purchased household items such as seats, bedding and kitchenware. In my entire life since marriage, I have never been privileged to own such. I have slept on cold floor, sat on a mat to share a meal with my family and cooked in pots that I inherited from my late grand-mother in-law. I very happy today that these are no longer problems, courtesy of GiveDirectly."

"Immediately I got my third transfer, I paid course fee for a course I had wished to undertake for a long time. My dream is to be a renowned tailor. I am now almost done with my classes and I know once I start my own tailoring business my level of income will increase. The remaining part of the money I used in my farm. My farm yields increased and now I have stored enough food for subsistence use."

"I spent my third transfer on paying school fees for my son in secondary school. Previously I only had to do odd jobs to ensure he is school, but this could never be enough and some times they could be sent out of school for fees, Seldom, when they are sent out of school, we could do the odd jobs together. I am happy he was able to join his final year in school now. I also spent some money to start a business of selling panties that I do besides the odd jobs to sustain my family. I can only be grateful to GiveDirectly."

"I spent my third transfer on constructing a three roomed house to replace the single roomed one that I possessed before. I lived a very pathetic life in the house which was not just small but leaking as well. Any time it rained, the entire family had to squat in a given corner of the house which was a bit free form the leakages and had to stay awake throughout the night. The following day, we would wake up to air all the household items that had been soaked in the rain water and drain out the floods from the house. That was our life before GD. As we speak now, I have a very spacious house with two beds in different rooms, one for me and the other for my children. We no longer spend on the floor as was the case before. In addition, we dress and eat so well, something that would have taken us a whole century to achieve. Much thanks to Give Directly."

"I spent most of my third transfer on renovating my house which was previously mud-walled and windowless. I therefore plastered the entire house, purchased a new steel door and windows which I all instilled in the house. As we speak, my house looks so beautiful and attractive to many. Secondly, I constructed a pit latrine and a bathroom. I lived a very stressful life without the two necessities. Any time I needed to visit a latrine, I would buy time at the neighborhood, tell as many stories as possible before finally requesting for their latrine. That would help cover up the shame I displayed in using the neighbors latrines frequently. When it came to bathing, I would wait until its dark, when nobody passing-by couldn't see me bath besides my house. My trick could work well on normal days, a big challenge would come when I needed to bathe during the day to attend a function or set off for a journey. I must extend my heartfelt gratitude for this far I have come with the transfers from GD."
