"I use doesn't have a free time since I spend most of my time doing and attending to customers in my barber shop. I do work from Monday to Sunday beginning from morning to at night around 9:30 and in fact my business booms in weekends and Holidays since many people come and that is why I can't have a free time. "My first priority is to use the money in expanding my businesses of a barbershop and a play station arcade. Currently there is a new version of the play station which I don't have. I want to buy one so that my clients can enjoy the new games, this way I will get a wider market too.
My second priority is to use this money to start a new business of selling second hand clothes. My wife can help me in doing that. We can be buying bakes from Gikomba market then sell. We will use part space from our barbershop to sell the clothes.
Lastly am going to use the money for my children's school fees. That way they can stay in school and I won't be worried so much on where to find money for their fees."

"My top concern is insecurities associated with gang violence and crime because living in slams that is the order of the day and one never knows where and when they will be victims and this worries me the most. Secondly, fires that occurs within the slums due to illegal connections are common and everytime am just worried whether my house and items are safe. Lastly, paying rent is sometimes very challenging being that I don't have a stable income so sometimes it means I take loans to pay rent which in the long run affects me. "

"My top concern is my family. I am a single parent and I would want my son to grow up in a good environment. I have been brought up in this environment and life has been very harsh, I wouldn't want my son to engage in drugs or criminal activities. I work so hard to make ends meet so that I can provide basic needs and a better foundation for my family."

"Life used to be dark and hopeless for me. Poverty was the order of day, with school fee burdens staring at me. I had even requested one of my sons to defer his university education till further notice due to lack of funds. GiveDirectly's arrival in my homestead was timely. School fee for both my sons is now paid in full for a year. Life is now good and I cannot complain at all. I have peace of mind. I look better even physically; I am stronger and healthier than before. If GiveDirectly officers who enrolled us were to come back they would not recognize me (and most of us). I am stress-free and happy, thanks to GiveDirectly."
