Joice
received a $22 eighth payment.
"I expect to buy more livestock in the near future. My main plan is to get a sheep because that is what I like the most. What I am sure about is that the sheep will give birth to other offspring's in the future which I a may eventually sell out and use the proceeds to get a cow. Once the cow comes into the picture I know I will be in a position to get constant supply of milk so that I will not be forced to buy milk like I do right now."

"I will have built a new house which means that my family will have a more spacious and house that accommodates everyone comfortably. Additionally, my husband and I plan to go for dowry payment like our tradition dictates. This will seal our marriage and probably just make it a recognized union by both families."

Mary
received a $22 eighth payment.
"I am sure that i will have accumulated enough livestock and once they mature I will sell them out in exchange of cash that I will then use to buy a cow. This is the ultimate goal because I know that the cow will give me enough milk and I will not have to be buying milk or failing to take tea milk due to lack of cash."

"I expect to buy some chicks maybe four or five in the near future and I know after a very short period they will hatch their eggs and result in additional chicks. I will therefore be able to sell the extra chicks and earn some money which will help me sort my financial needs so that I will not have to rely so much on the cash transfers from Give directly."

Victor
received a $22 eighth payment.
"I know I will have managed to get the new house that is more spacious and well accommodating for all of us. Having the house is such an important thing because right now we are forced to squeeze in this small house that is limits our freedom, privacy and movement in the house."

"My biggest worry is that I don't have a reliable source of income. This is because I rely on my neighbors to give me some odd jobs such as weeding, slashing or any other jobs in their farms so that I can provide food for my family. Due to prolonged drought in my village, we are sometimes forced to sleep hungry because jobs are hard to find."

"Two years ago,I started a second hand clothes business from which the profits would be adequate to buy food, pay school fees and cater for any financial need that would arise.Unfortunately, I lost my working capital mysteriously on my way to pick the bales in Mombasa in May 2018.This forced me to venture in charcoal burning which currently can not generate enough money to feed and educate my children.Receiving this money means I will revive the second hand clothes business and hopefully regain my financial stability and provide adequately for the basic needs of my family."

Joseph
received a $453 second payment.
"My life has changed alot in that I can now pay for my medical bills and buy food for my family compared to the past where I was stressed about medical bills, lack of food and other necessities.
This cash transfer also helped me pay for my children's school fees.
Life was very difficult because I could not afford to even hire a farm land for farming."
