"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I would have saved some money in a merry go round to enable me to buy a heifer which has always been my dream. When the heifer starts lactating and reproduces, I will be able to earn an income through the sale of milk. I will also be able to save the money I would otherwise use in buying milk and use it in times of financial crisis."

"Life is now different in that I have a taxi motorcycle providing daily income. Household items acquired like utensils add life to my house, and there's enough cultivation land re-possessed after paying off a standing debt in which it was used as security. Before, I used not have cultivation land, not enough household items to even host a visitor, and no source of daily income to support life. "

"My living standards have improved ever since I received the cash transfers. I acquired nice house hold items such as ( two mattresses, chairs and utensils) which have made my home presentable in case I receive visitors. In addition to this, I purchased a motorcycle that is earning daily income. Earlier in time,I had old broken utensils and I had no chairs for visitors. The children used to sleep on a small mattress which was uncomfortable. I am very delighted that GiveDirectly sent us the cash transfers."

"My life is currently different in that I was able to build a permanent though it was using the first transfer. This has has given me joy and a sense of freedom as I no longer have to move places looking for grass and keep renovating my former hut. In addition, I am delighted that together with my husband we acquired a motorcycle that has boosted his business of selling water in the community. This has as well enabled us to sustain and eased transportation in my family. Prior to receiving this money, my husband used to sell water using a bicycle which was a little tiring since he had to move long distances and it was time consuming."

"In the next six months of my life, I expect to have bought a sewing machine thus I'll have an additional source of income apart from the retail shop business. With the improved income from both businesses, I'll be able to save some money and use it to expand the current retail shop and later make it a wholesale business."

"The cash transfers have beautified my home. I acquired good bedding facilities for the family. We all sleep on comfortable beds. I also hired a piece of farm land to increase my crop production. In the past, my household was in an awkward condition. We did not have enough mattresses, clothes. I must admit that life was very miserable then. I am grateful that GiveDirectly chose to send my family these cash transfers."

"My life before receiving GiveDirectly's transfers was demeaning because when my marriage failed, I decided to return home to my parents. I never had a house for shelter but lucky enough my brother surrendered his to me and my children slept in a kitchen. It was so shameful in the sense that there was back and forth transfer of children's beddings from the kitchen to my room daily to create room for cooking. Secondly, my brothers reproduced many children and there wasn't enough land to cultivate. I lived a beggar's life for where to farm. Currently, My life is at peace because I managed to put up a permanent structure of two rooms (bedroom and sitting room). My children have occupied the iron roofed house and no more suffering of carrying beddings on daily basis. In addition, I managed to hire farmland for cultivation meaning that I no longer have to beg for gardens. In conclusion, I want to thank GiveDirectly for elevating me from the bad conditions I lived in to the level I'm in right now. if there was a way I could set my eyes on the donors who showed much love to me, I don't know how I will express my happiness unto them."
