"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will be having a new kitchen. I want to use my monthly transfers to buy building materials such as iron sheets and nails which I will use in building a new kitchen. This is where my children will sleep too so that I can have some privacy in my main house."

"Being the last born of my family, the small hut i currently live in with my family adjacent to my parents' house was inherited from my father since i haven't been able to build my own house. I therefore plan to use my first transfer to build my own two roomed iron roofed house far from my parents' compound and one hut that will serve as a kitchen. My second transfer will enable me to buy a dairy cow since i currently spend a lot in buying milk for family consumption from a neighbour. "

"Receiving this money means that i will be able to add one dairy cow to my farm, since i know the benefits i will get upon selling milk from the experience i have with the one i currently own. I also intend to buy some sheep to rear in my farm. My children have not started attending school yet and so by the time my sheep start multiplying, it will ease the burden of paying school fees "

"In the past, farming used to be what we depended on for a living in this area but due to crop pests and diseases that cropped up about 6 years ago, we no longer venture into farming since we always end up having poor yields and less harvests. Since then, i always engage in manual jobs to earn a living and more specifically going to the forest to fetch some fire wood that i would latter sell in hotels and people's homes. This is an uphill task since sometimes i wake up without much energy to engage in this casual job but i got no otherwise since i got a family who fully depend on me. This is the biggest hardship i face."

"I have a plan of buying a dairy cow when I receive this transfers.I have one cow and adding one more will translate to more income especially from the sale of milk.I am also hoping to expand this piece of land to enable me do more farming. We live in a one acre piece of land which I feel is not enough for farming. That extra piece of land will enable me to do vegetable farming."

"My life has greatly changed after I received transfers from GiveDirectly since I currently live in an iron-roofed house that could not have happened if it was not for GD. I majorly depend on farming and hardly found casual jobs in our area. My family needs have been overwhelming that I could not invest or do extra development in the family other than taking care of the basic daily basic needs. I had a dream to build a decent iron-roofed house but the scare resource couldn't allow me hence I had to spend much of my time maintaining our grass-thatched houses. My life is currently different from how it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I currently feel so proud and happy since I also live in an iron-roofed house. I have bought a water tank that will help me harvest water during rainy season hence I will not be spending much time as I do currently to fetch water and I will have clean water at my doorstep for my domestic use. I am happy for this and I have hopes of good future now that I have built a house and I have cows and goats that I will look after to help me in future as my security for any needs arising. I feel GiveDirectly has given me a good foundation for my family."
