"The moment when I received my money I felt so happy. It was very early in the money when I heard a message from my phone and when I checked it, I felt so happy because I have never received such amount of money before. I informed my spouse who was equally so happy. We knew we would be able to buy a dairy cow and cut the cost of buying milk daily."

John
received a $22 nineteenth payment.
"In the next six months, I would wish to have improved in agricultural production. This is one area where we are planning to invest in to ensure enough supply of foodstuff for the household and surplus to sell as a source of income. School fees payment s also in our plans since we would not wish to see our children being disturbed again. We are giving them hope that they can compete favorably with other students in school and it's also a chance for them to work harder and attain the grades they have always wanted to."

Mbae
received a $531 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now own two dairy cows. I have been longing to own them for a long period of time but I could not afford. With the cows I will be getting milk for free for my family consumption. This will boost us health wise. Previously,I have been buying from my neighbors which was very expensive and sometimes I could not afford. Apart from that, I am planning to sell the milk and getting some money in return. This will be my source of income since I am jobless. This will uplift my living standard. I will be able to cater to my family basic needs with ease."

Fatuma
received a $514 second payment.
"My life is now different because I now own a permanent rental house which I constructed through my transfers from GiveDirectly. The previous one was a seasonal one hence I could not get some good money because the tenants were not comfortable with the condition of the house. Some were even relocating by the end of every month. This was a big loss to me as the landlady because I was not able to cater to my daily needs since the money that I was getting was too little. But ever since I renovated it, I have been getting some good rents from my tenants because I even increased the rents due to the good condition of the house. I am now able to meet my family basic needs without any difficulties."

"Now that this salon will be my only source of income in six months when the project is over, I am optimistic that the plan I have of improving and stocking the business will yield good results. I expect to be making a lot more profits after improving this business because by then I will have more varieties of the products that I currently sell which will attract more customers."

"My biggest expectation is that my grocery business will have improved to be stable enough to be able to take care of my needs when the project end. I have plans of expanding the business by adding more stock and even some new items that I do not sell currently and I hope I will have achieved this in six months time."
