"The biggest hardship I face in my household is that we do not have enough land in order to cultivate. The land that we had was leased out in order to pay bride price to my parents. In my culture, the man is expected to pay bride price to the girl's parents as a sign of appreciation. This has left us with limited land to cultivate hence we are realizing food shortages in our household. "

I came back home from marriage but life I not as easy as I expected it to be. The piece of land that is available for use is too small to accommodate the need. "

When my children complete their education, they will get good paying jobs which will enable them to support us as well. "I felt so happy the moment I received the money from GiveDirectly. It was very early in the morning when I heard the message from my phone and when I checked it I felt so happy because I have never received such amount of money before. My spouse too was so happy when I shared the news with her. We knew we were finally going to be able to buy a dairy cow, something we had been hoping to achieve but without success for a long time."
