"The biggest hardship I face in my life is I do not have a clear source of money that could help support my household. I am a peasant farmer without land, much of the land I cultivate on is hired. I some times borrow loans in order to hire land which does not allow me to save because, after harvesting, I have to sell some in order to pay debts leaving the household with little food."

"Receiving the money means I will be able to pay school fees for my children which will enable them receive better education for better jobs in future. The jobs they will get will be a source of livilihood for their families as well as ours. The balance that will be left, I will spend it on buying food for my household in order to nourish them. Currently, I pay school fees for my children through farming but the income got through farming is not adequate enough."

"The biggest hardship I face in my life is limited food for my household. This is resulting from limited land to cultivate crops which is coupled with lack of income to hire more. I have a large family whose main source of income is through farming. The land that I own has lost it nutrients hence it does not produce high yield."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of land for cultivation. The only piece of land that I have is too small to accommodate the need. It only fits a home compound and I have never had the opportunity to buy more because there is no money to do so. As a result of this, I always don't have food in the house. I do casual labour so as to survive. I can not save in order to do something bigger for my family Life is just so hard for me. This explains why my son had to drop out of school. I could not raise money to take care of his education need because of my situation. "

"Receiving this money means that I will be able to marry my spouse. I have spent three years staying with my spouse and the in-laws are requesting for dowery in order to formalise our marriage traditional. This has never been possible and I do not command any respect from my in-laws. Givedirectly transfers will enable me buy cows to give my in- laws as dowery for traditional marriage. I will gain trust from my in-laws and wife. This will bring peace , love and progress in the family."

"Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house. I have a house which is grass thatched but maintaining it is expensive given the fact that grass is scarce these days. I also hope to buy a cow using this same money. Hopefully, this cow will reproduce and provide milk for the family. I feel this way, my household can be supported better. "
