"Being a house wife means I depend solely on my husband for upkeep. He supports the family with around 3000 shillings a month. This amount is supposed to cater for food, medical, clothing and educational needs. It is quite impossible to meet all of them because food and education consume almost 75% of the amount. I have always desired to set up a business to supplement our family income. I this regard, I will use part of the transfer to start a chicken business in Bamba market. This project will save me the fulltime dependence on my spouse. Besides, I will start a goat rearing project that will help me during financial emergencies."

"Financial instability has been my biggest hardship in life. This is because being a widow with no reliable source of income yet you have dependants who are still schooling can be a big challenge. Most of the time, my children are sent out school due to lack of fee and this has affected their performances negatively. It is a big thorn to me when I see them at home while others are in class. "

"Maize is a four-month crop and if my next goal succeeds then it means that in six month's time I will be having enough harvests. This means that I will be able to provide for my family for the next year and even have enough for sale and earn income. I expect to do this by six months' time."

"It was still early in the morning and I was still sleeping when I heard a message notification on my phone and I decided to check it since I was awake. Upon reading its contents, my heart was filled with joy especially when I saw the amount that I had received. I knew that my plan of building a permanent house for my family would soon be realized."

"Expanding my dairy project had always been my prayer but had not been able to due to financial constraints. Buying the four heifers using my transfers is so far the biggest difference in my daily life. As a result of this, I will be able to increase my income from the dairy project after these heifers start reproducing. I am also optimistic that one of them will be calving soon thus an increase in milk production. I will be using the income from this project for my children's school fees and to cater for my family needs."

"The biggest hardship I face in my life is lack of a reliable source of income in order to support my household. The lityle money I earn though farming is not enough to meet household demands like medication, education and feeding among others. I therefore struggle every day without making any savings."

"I have always admired and been jealous of my neighbours when they go out herding their cattle. This is because I did not have any in my life. I felt so poor because I was not even able to own livestock just like my peers. Some of my friends would look down on me and even treat me unfairly. I knew one day my story will change but I did not know GD will be my way out. When I bought three cows with my transfer, some people thought they don't belong to me and I was taking care of someone else. Two weeks down the line, there was nobody who came for the cows. At that point, they acknowledged the cows were mine. Right now, they do come, we join the cows and go herding together. I do feel so proud at such times and all because of gD transfers."
