Sylvano
received a $511 second payment.
"I have always in a two-roomed house because I did not have the resources to build a bigger one. I used to pray that some day I would get enough money to put up a house of my liking. I did not know the help would have come from GD. At first, I thought it was just an empty promise until I received my first transfer, I was very happy and went straight to our nearby hardware where I bought building materials such as iron sheets, timber and nails. I have used the materials to put up a three-bedroomed house. I feel so proud because of the house I built with gD transfers."

Joyce
received a $530 initial payment.
"I had been called to start to work the following month in a different county before receiving my transfers. My spouse and I had already started planning to take a loan to facilitate my relocation process. When I received my transfers, we had to cancel the loan we had applied so that we would not have to pay the interest. Being able to relocate to my new place of work without taking a loan is the biggest difference in my daily life. Also, my transfers enabled me to relocate with my children since they are still young as it would have been inconveniencing had I left them with their father."

Evans
received a $512 second payment.
"Before the transfers, I did not have any stable source of income. I only depended on a small income from casual work which was nto enough to meet all my needs well. I would really struggle and I felt like was very unfair to me. This is why I chose to start a grocery business with part of my first transfer. The littler profit from the business has really helped me grow financially and meet the small needs in time. As a result, we do not have a list of pending needs which has reduced our financial burden."

Antoney
received a $511 second payment.
"The poultry project I started with part of my transfer has brought a lot of financial changes in my life. Since I only depended on income from casual work, I was not able to provide for my family well. The income was not much and very inconsistent. As a result, I would have to borrow to ensure I meet all my needs. I did not have much in life. This is why I needed an income-generating activity to help me boost my income. My needs were rising on a daily basis but the income was not growing at all. When GD sent me the transfers, I used it to buy chic for starting a poultry project. I am glad it is doing well and as a result, I get money from the sale of chicken and eggs. Through the income, I am able to handle financial difficulties easily because of |I do not go borrowing and begging to meet my family needs. GD has taken away my shame."

Henry
received a $530 second payment.
"I used my transfer to start a grocery business for my wife. This has brought a lot of change in our financial life. I do not struggle as I used to so that my family needs are met. My family depended on my income which could not sustain all our needs. I would have to borrow in most cases which was also a very big burden to me. I would hardly have extra to spend on my family. I was operating on a fixed budget which was not going on well with me. Since my wife started the business, we have always had an extra income on a daily basis which has really helped us handle some of the needs on a regular basis. I don't feel like I used to feel when I was overwhelmed with needs. Secondly, the fact that I do not buy kerosene on a daily basis is a very big relief for me. My children have sufficient light to do their homework till very late and the risk we had from smoke emissions from kerosene lamp too is no more. My daily expenditure has reduced because of GD transfers."

"The biggest difference in my life is that, I have own oxen that are going to ease my agriculture(ploughing and transporting agricultural produce from the farm). Secondly, I have acquired household items that has made my very happy because my house is very descent to stay in. Before receiving this transfer, I didn't have oxen of my own, I hired people's oxen which were not readily available in time. I had only one small old mattress and this left my children sleeping on the mat."
