Joan
received a $517 second payment.
"My life is different from how it would have been had I not received the transfer because I now live in a more decent and spacious house. I had never imagined that I would one day be able to build a bigger house since I knew that I needed a lot of money to achieve this and I do not have any source of income."

Penaline
received a $517 second payment.
"My life is different from how it would have been had I not received the transfer because I now earn income from my transportation business. I use my donkeys to ferry goods from one destination to another and I at times lease it to someone I trust that he can take good care of them. Due to this, I have been able to pay my children's school fees on time."

Janeth

"My life is different from how it would have been had I not received the transfer because we no live in a good house. The previous one was old and not in good shape. Emmy
received a $517 second payment.
"My life is different from how it would have been had I not received the transfer because I was able to clear school fees for my son in high school and I am glad since he has not been sent back home since then. Due to this, I have had enough time to look for the remaining balance for the one in college. Also, my house is always clean and it usually take me a shorter time dusting it."

"My life is different from how it would have been had I not received the transfer in that, we have made a major step in life. First, I no longer buy milk daily like before. Due to this, we have enough milk for consumption and I also save the money I would otherwise use in buying milk. Also, we currently live in a spacious house that can accommodate us comfortably and even visitors."

Sharon
received a $517 second payment.
"We lived in a small pieces of land we inherited from our parents. A piece that couldn't allow much of farming due to it size. As a farmer, I felt demoralized of this resource and always worked towards getting a better piece. I had bought a cow using part of my transfer as away of investing and saving the transfer. I later on sold the cow to buy a piece of land in the neighborhood. I see this piece as a product of GiveDirectly and I thank them a lot. I can currently expand my farming to the new piece thus have better yields that I can sell to meet other family needs."

Jane
received a $517 second payment.
"My life is now different because I currently own livestock which I would not have managed to buy on my own cost. One of my future goals was to have at least a good source of income. I feel GiveDirectly has fulfilled this since I will be selling milk as these cows reproduce. The offsprings to come will be added assets that I can readily rely on in case of financial crisis. I feel happy to have such assets courtesy of GiveDirectly."

Mercy
received a $516 second payment.
"Had it not for GiveDirectly, I wouldn't have bought a piece of land which will be used as maize plantation. It will help me in growing maize for purposes of feeding my family. The ancestral land that our home currently sits on is owned by many families, its not enough for us to live and also do crop growing. I am now a happy person having realized this goal. I also have a cow which is currently giving us milk to help feed the family and even some can be sold tp earn the family an income.
I also note that when the money came, we spent part of it in buying food for the family. It is from then that I feel poverty was eradicated because since then, we have been able to fend for ourselves. "

Rusi
received a $516 second payment.
"Nowadays I have a source of income from the sale of milk which came out of the cow that was bought. The milk is also food to my children hence I would not spend most of the money in procurement of milk for family use.
Had it not for GiveDirectly, we wouldn't have gotten money to build the new house for our son which is currently offering him comfort in terms of shelter and also cold."
