Kabibi
received a $501 second payment.
"My life is now so different in so many ways that I can mentions and I am so proud, courtesy of GiveDirectly. I managed to pay school fees for my children in time. I also have some new mattresses for my family. These were to replace the old ones that we have been using for all those years causing some backpains. Lastly, the pair of oxen that I now own will also help in the farming activities. It is a relief too,e because I have been hiring from friends and it was expensive. I will also hire them for my friends and generate an income."

Nyevu
received a $501 second payment.
"The fact that I managed to clear the huge school fees balance for my children makes the biggest difference in my life. This is because I have been struggling as a widow to make sure they get food a well as getting their school. It reached a point I could not afford to raise the fees and they were forced to stay home and this affected their academic performance. I am glad the financial support from GD enabled me to send them back again to school. Also, the pair of oxen that I now own has made my farming activities much easier because I have been using my own hands all those years and it was tiring with low harvesting products. It is now a major relief to me and for my family at large."

Lastly, I now have a dairy cow and I am currently getting milk for my consumption and sell the remaining liters to my friends. Thus is now my source of income."

Dama
received a $501 second payment.
"Before the coming of GiveDirectly, I was living in a mud house and my dream was to upgrade to a more permanent brick house. I am pleased to live in a good and decent house. I had no hopes of improving this life was it not for GiveDirectly coming to our village and giving us the transfer. I am now happy to live in a newly renovated Iron-roofed house and spacious enough unlike the one I used to live in."

Carren
received a $501 second payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is the house that I have build. It has helped me to put up an iron-roofed house that is on drier grounds. The grass-thatched houses were leaking during the current heavy rains. The ground on which I had put up the other old house was damp and not conducive for my family to live in. I am happy that I have been able to move my family to some better house which is would not have been possible without the transfers that I have received."

Jennipher
received a $519 initial payment.
"I used all of my recent transfer to build a new house. I had always wished that I could get enough money that would enable me build a new house but the little amount of money that I got from my casual works were barely enough to meet the cost of the basic needs. On receiving this transfer, I embarked on a serious mission of building this house and which I have since completed its construction."

Kadone
received a $519 second payment.
"My life is currently different because I now own some livestock which includes goats and a bull which I acquired through this money. To me, these are assets that I can readily depend on to meet my future financial needs like educating my children who are still young. I am also living in a decent iron-roofed house which I built using the transfer. This has been my biggest dream because I tried to upgrade to a better house but I never succeeded since I lacked the financial resources for this. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for helping me achieve to build my dream house."

Dama

"I am now living in a decent iron-roofed house that I built through the transfer. My previous house was in a very pathetic condition and I couldn't even afford to renovate it. I am grateful to GiveDirectly because when I received my transfer, I purchased enough building materials to construct the new house. Apart from this, my son is now comfortably in school because of this money. I have also revived my business which was almost collapsing. I am now getting a good income which is able to effectively buy daily foodstuffs for my family and also paying daily household expenses without struggle."

"Before GiveDirectly came to us, I did not have a decent house. The house that happened to be my home was in a bad state, its roof was dilapidated and leaking when it rains. I couldn't afford to even buy building materials to renovate it. My husband who was our sole breadwinner was sick and indisposed and couldn't work anymore. I am now living happily in my decent iron-roofed house, courtesy of GiveDirectly. I also took my husband to a good hospital was treated and now recovering well because of this money."

Kavumbi
received a $502 second payment.
"I thank GiveDirectly because were it not for this financial support, I wouldn't have managed to pay for my children school fees on time. This has given me an opportunity to raise money for their next payment. I am at peace now because their studies will not be interrupted concerning school fees. I also managed to buy enough building materials and constructed a new iron-roofed house. I am happy because I can now access a good shelter, unlike the previous house which was nearly collapsing since it was unstable from the roof."
