The biggest difference in my daily life is the house that I have build. It has helped me to put up an iron-roofed house that is on drier grounds. The grass-thatched houses were leaking during the current heavy rains. The ground on which I had put up the other old house was damp and not conducive for my family to live in. I am happy that I have been able to move my family to some better house which is would not have been possible without the transfers that I have received.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well in that they brought assistance right to our homes. The process of moving from house to house ensured that no one was unfairly left out of the project. This is what makes me happy that the organization did well to deliver aid fairly.

I spent the first transfer on building a house. I used the money to buy roofing sheets and wood for house construction. I then bought sheep because keeping livestock is profitable. I then bought foodstuffs for the household.

The biggest difference in my daily life is I have bought a dairy cow. I used to buy milk from my neighbors and it was so costly for me. I depend on small scale farming where I plant vegetables. The amount of money I could get from these casual jobs was so small and it could not gather for all the basic including paying school fees for my children in primary. I used to wake up early in the morning to look for a job and come back home late at night, this was denying me an opportunity to bond well with my children. When I received the money from GiveDirectly I bought a dairy cow. Currently, I no longer buy milk, I saved the money that I could have used to pay part of the school fees for my children. I no longer do much of the casual jobs and I have devoted my time to work on my own farm. My children no longer miss to have milk and they are so happy and very healthy. I am so much grateful for the support because it has made me have peace of mind which I didn't have before.

The moment when I received my money I felt so happy. I remember it was very early in the morning around 6:30 Am when I heard a message notification on my phone. When I checked it I could not believe my eyes because I have never received such an amount of money before. I knew I would be able to buy a dairy cow to reduce the cost of buying milk. My family members also really celebrated much.
