"Lack of a reliable source of income that can support the needs of my family has been my biggest hardship.I purely depends on motorcyclist transportation but alone can not fully sustain the needs of my family. On a good day I can earn 500 shillings and this is hardly enough to cater for my family's basic needs, like food and clothing. I am happy to learn that soon I will be owning a business that will supplement this income once I receive give directly transfer."

"In 2001 a weird kind of disease hit me. Many said that I was possessed by demons. I used to loose my memory and my behaviour was weird at times. I visited several hospitals but I could not get a cure. I resorted to get saved and depend on God to heal me from the disease. I am now well but after struggling with this situation for 12 years. The 12 years were a big setback to me economically and more worse,my health deteriorated. This is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life."

"My first priority is building a house when I receive this money. I live in a very tiny house because my other house was swept away by the rains. I will use approximately 500 USD to build a two roomed house. I will then use 150 USD to buy 5 goats. This will act as a future investment for paying school fees for my children."

"Coming from a polygamous family and the only bread winner has never been easy. I am a charcoal vendor. This job is energy draining and earns me 150 shillings. This is not enough to cater for all our needs.Lack of a reliable source of income is my biggest challenge."

"My wish has been to repair my house. I am an elderly woman who depends on my stepsons for my survival. They do casual jobs in the village which earn them 200 shillings in a day. The amount is not enough to sustain a family of 8 members and me. I am planning to spend 60,000 shillings to repair the roofing. Currently, I am staying in a grass stitched house which leaks during rainy seasons. Other than that, I will purchase 1 indigenous dairy cow. The money I will be making from the sale of milk will sustain my needs such as food. Approximately,I can make 200 shillings."

"Being a single parent, I have always desire to have a reliable source of income to support my family of 3 members. Receiving this money means accomplishing my dream since I am planning to spend $ 250 on paying my tailoring college fees and to purchase a brand new sewing machine. I will also use $ 300 to start goats rearing these will be our reliable sources of income for my family a transformation I have longed for. The remaining amount will assist me in construction of a good shelter."

"Receiving this money mean an improved lifestyle. I have been living in this house for a long time but it is small; it can hardly accommodate a family of 7. My ambition therefore, has always been to build another better house and improve the life of my family. My intention is to use Ksh 30,000 to build a new house and this will bring a sigh of fulfillment as a parent."
