"I have been born and raised up in an humble family, to us, even education was a luxury. Lack of resources has been my biggest hardship I have ever faced my life. I was forced to drop out of school and later got married at an early age looking for a green pasture and to date it is not forthcoming."

"Receiving this money mean an improved business. I run a small shop business within the village and I have been aspiring to add more stock and increase my income. Currently, I am getting a profit of approximately Ksh 300 a day which has really helped fend for my family. My intention is to use Ksh 20,000 to buy more stock and I am projecting a profit of not less than Ksh 1,000 which will be a milestone in my family. This will also raise my self esteem."

"Receiving this money will enable me to buy two heifer cattle for $140 each. I plan to sell the heifers and buy a piece of land later after they multiply. I also intend to build a two-roomed iron-roofed house that will cost me $300. The current one-roomed house that I stay in with my family serves as a kitchen as well as a bedroom. This is a hazard especially for my one-month-old baby more so when smoke fills the house now that we use firewood to cook."

"My greatest desire had been to own dairy cows that can help me to get income from the sale of milk once they breed. This has been my wish because at the moment, my husband was forced to get some cows from my neighbour to rear them, and in return, we get our daily food through the selling of the milk. My plan once I receive my transfers are to buy 4 indigenous dairy cows at $600 and the remaining amount will help me acquire 7 goats at $30 each. This will act as the long-term investment project that will help me sort out any future emergency and hence, a better living."
