Robert
received a $494 initial payment.
"I spent part of my transfer on buying some building materials such as iron sheets to finish constructing my house which I had initially started a few months ago. I also bought a piece of land worthy of KES 35000. This was specifically for my agricultural activities. For the remaining amount of money, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family and some other household items."

"My biggest hardship has been my struggle to find money. My source of income is casual labour and its not always roses. There times i go out and come back with empty pockets as i was unable to find any work to gain my income that day. This results to us sleeping only on mangoes as food but this also is a problem as mangoes are seasonal"

"Receiving this money means a relief from our daily casual labour, gardening in other peoples farms so that I can find money to buy food for my family. Using the money I will be able to buy enough food for my household as we are already starving to the point of spending 2 days without any food but sleeping on mangoes and wild roots and fruits."

"I have difficulties in finding food for myself as I have just recently gotten married after being impregnated by my boyfriend and my parents have chased me out of their house. This has made it difficult for me and my husband to support our marriage as we are all very young kids without any jobs or gardens of our own to farm"

"Well, when I receive this money I will buy iron sheets in order to construct a better looking house. As you can see, my house is in a dilapidated state, therefore, this cash will among other things be used to build another house. Secondly, I will buy mattresses as well as food. Iam sure my life will change for the better."
