"I spent 250USD of my transfer on building a two roomed house because initially I had a grass thatched roof which was built forty years ago and I have lived there since my youth. 20USD on maize and beans seeds because it's planting season and bean seeds are short season crops hence will be a source of food for my family. I spent 80USD on six bags of maize as a source of food for my family because in order to work you have to do eat well in order for your mind to stabilize. I spent 100USD on my own clothing and wife's clothing and the rest I have saved for school fees payment when school reopen in the next season."

Emily
received a $494 initial payment.
"I am very happy because I have bought a heifer which is now seven months pregnant cow. I am optimistic that in the next two months I will be milking my own cow instead of buying milk from neighbors as I usually do. I have also planted maize which will a source for my family come next year. I have also bought a mattress and my daughter's and now we sleep comfortable. Before, I used to sleep on children school left over mattresses and used to get a lot of backaches because they were tiny. Since I slept on new mattress there are no more backpains and I am strong enough to work on my farm. I am very grateful because I have grown fatter and neater until my grand kids cannot identify me anymore."

Joan
received a $494 initial payment.
"I spent 180 USD of my transfer on building a two roomed Iron roofed semi permanent house because initially I had two tiny grass thatched houses. The Iron roofed house is a more spacious and can accommodate up to 15 visitors in one sitting and the Iron roof will be a source of clean water especially during rainy seasons. I spent 25USD on tractor for hire and maize and bean seeds because it's planting season and before I used to plant locally produced seeds and relied on man power. I spent 180USD on clothing for family with each individual spending 30USD on their clothes because we couldn't afford latest fashions hence only were second hand clothes and now we are very neat. I spent 120 USD on three sacks of maize meal for feeding my family because our place is semi arid there are prolonged dry spells which affects food production hence hunger strike."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is eating adequate varieties of food which I couldn't afford before and now I am stress free. Initially, we used to eat from hand to mouth but with the transfers I am more healthy and neat than before. I have even added weight and I am very grateful. Owning a heifer and goats which will be a source of income for my family is also another big difference. Before, I used to be sickly and stress up because I had lost most of my dairy cows to cattle diseases which are prevalent in our place but the transfers have enabled me recover my lost glory."

Kadzo
received a $494 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I managed to build a new decent house which makes me proud. Previously I used to shelter under a small house that could not accommodate some of my family mbenrs. This has really been stressing me for long because the little I was earning from the casual jobs were not enough for me to build a new house. Therefore my children were forced to sleep at their friend's houses which was very stressful. I am now a happy parent since I now have a big house that can accommodate all my family members."
