"My dream has been to construct a decent house for my family but this dream has not come true due to financial instability. I depend on my husband who works as a gardener. Receiving this money means fulfilling it. I am planning to spend 60,000 shillings on construction. This is going to enable us to live decent and comfortable life.Currently, the house we are in is too small and also leaks during the rainy season. When it's raining we are forced to find shelter at our neighbors which sometimes challenges me with the kinds especially at night. Other than that, I will invest the remaining amount in the small business of selling vegetables. This is going to generate income for my family."

"Receiving this money means food security for my family. To ensure that my family has an assured regular supply of food, I'm planning to use the transfer to buy enough food for my family. I will also buy an ox-plough to increase the piece of land I till on so as to boost my productivity in the farm. I only till 3 acres of land every season and the produce is 4 bags of maize. However, with the availability of the ox-plough, I can till upto 10 acres each season which assures my family 12-14 bags of maize."

"We have been married for three years now but we have never received nor been given money like this. This money has given us hope that we shall finally have a good looking house and a capital for business. As you know a good house needs iron sheets , good windows and a comfortable sleeping place. As a woman,I also need proper household utensils such as water buckets to make sure I do not travel frequently to the nearest well. This also applies to cooking utensils which are needed to be enough for any proper household."

"I am happy to be part of this program because my husband left me and went to South Africa. I am now alone with five children and alot of responsibility to bear because of this money I will be able to ease my problems and I will be able to take care of my children and buy them food and fix the roof of my home. The thatched straws on my roof are getting damaged and I experience leakages during the rainy season because of this money I will be able to buy iron sheets and fix my home"

"I want to be able to provide for my family and live a comfortable life and receiving this money gives me that opportunity because I will be able to purchase a mattress so we no longer sleep on the floor every night and build a new home. I want to build a better home with a roof with iron sheets so we do not suffer during the rainy season and get sick because we are sleeping in a damp house. This money means having a better life"

"The biggest hardship I've experienced is not having sufficient fertiliser when farming. I do not have enough fertiliser to grow maize and due to this the maize grows poorly and I do not harvest enough for selling or feeding my family all year round."
