"Life has been difficult since I got married with 6 kids.My family and I survive through the means of sustainable farming in order for some financial support.Mostly, I'm the one doing the farm activities ,and it's really tough for me because of my age and health conditions. We have been financially unstable to supporting children in school and looking after the family. The house we are presently residing in has not been built properly due to some financial constraints. So I decided to use my transfer to renovate my entire house to the fullest."

"Givedirectly has done extremely well for me through the cash transfer. The transfers have helped me to send my children to school. I have also purchased some building materials to start my building project. Before I came across Givedirectly, I was living in a deplorable house and couldn't afford to buy even a bundle of zinc."

"I have desired to build a decent and spacious house for my family. This is because we have been living with my 6 children in a small leaking structure and almost open. It was such a pathetic condition during the winter period as kids were always diagnosed with cold-related illnesses. I spent the recent transfers to construct a modern two-roomed, mud-plastered house for the family. Nowadays, I am glad we are living in a nice shelter courtesy of the aid from GiveDirectly. Moreover, I used part of the remaining amount to acquire new furniture that are bed and mattress, table and chairs. Lastly, I bought a solar lighting system for my house. At the moment, I am happy to get enough light at night and my children can now afford to do their night studies at home."

"The biggest challenge I have is that I am a single mom. I still live in the same compound with parents which causes conflicts many times from my dad due to the fact that he was not happy when I got pregnant. In addition to that the father of my child doesn't give me any kind of support which lead me into hustling so much. I do casual job and earn less than $1 per day. I believe that if I get this support from GiveDirectly, I will manage to build my house and start a new goof life with my child."

"When I got married to my husband, we were both in collage and we believed that we had a bright future ahead of us. Since both of us come from a very humble backgrounds, my parents somehow managed to pay my school fees until I graduated but unfortunate, my husband had to drop out of school at some point due to lack of school fees. When I graduated, I was very hopeful that I will get a job to support my husband go back to school but a couple of years later today with two children, I haven't managed to find a job. When we receive our first transfer, my husband was able to go back to school and we are grateful to GiveDirectly for that. I spend $417 to open a second hand clothes boutique and the balance to buy iron sheets that we used to roof a two bedroom muddy house that we had built. With this business I will be able to pay my husband's college fees and school fees for my children."
