"I have always bought kerosene on a daily basis and it has been very costly on my daily expenditure. I knew the best way to reduce what I spend on a daily basis was to buy a solar system. Since I did not have any source of income, I was not able to buy a solar system. I had to put up with borrowing money to buy kerosene or take on credit for my children to comfortably do their homework. When I received the transfers, I used it to pay for a solar system which I bought on a higher purchases basis. I have fully paid for the panel and I don't feel the burden of buying kerosene on a daily basis."

"I used to have four cows two years ago. Unfortunately, I was forced to sell the cows to raise money to pay school fees arrears for my children. This is because I do not have an income which I can depend on to meet my demands and even pay school fees arrears for my children. My only option was to sell the cows. I was frustrated with life and I was overwhelmed. When I used the transfers to clear fees arrears for my children and had some amount to spare, I decided to buy two cows. I thank GD for restoring my pride in the village through the cows."

"I have always struggled to pay school fees for my children. This is because I have always depended on a small income from casual work which is not even enough to meet all our daily needs. In as much as I used to get very little income, I would not have allowed my children to drop out of school at all cost. I still had to give it my best because I know when they are done with school, they will get well-paying jobs which will help them with their families. Even if they don't take care of me as I would expect, I would not want them to go through the struggles I have gone through."

"My life is different in that my wife was able to finish her college education. Since I only depended on a small income from casual work, I was not able to do much in life yet my wife too had registered for her college education. We had agreed I will support her in paying her fees when she registered. I have always struggled to raise money until her last examinations which she was going to miss without the transfers. I had borrowed a lot and I could not borrow anymore. I did not have any option of raising the money to pay on my own. I am glad I was able to clear her college fees balance and she was able to finish her college education in time. Without GD I would not have managed to clear the balance."

"I depend on casual jobs in the village to earn living and support my family. I am lucky to have a piece of land but I had felt ashamed of neglecting this precious resource due to lack of resource to make good use of. I was not in a position to prepare well my piece of land, get quality seeds and fertilizers and always found myself doing things later. I had put my family in hunger since poor cultivation of my piece of land led to poor yield that couldn't sustain us to the subsequent harvesting season. I had been worried about how best I could improve on this but the little resource I had never gave me a chance to work on this. I felt more ashamed and demoralized every time we had a food shortage and had to spend a lot on food while our piece of land is lying idle. The biggest difference in my daily life is that I feel empowered to make good use of my piece of land. I have made good progress in farming in that I have employed better methods of land preparation, observe time, use of hybrid seeds and artificial fertilizer. I am happy and hopeful that I will have a better harvest come next harvesting season. I have devoted much of time to my farm and this has made me relax and happy that I have a good time in my family unlike before."

"I do not expect any change but I am still saving towards building my dream house. I do not have a house thus I stay in a rental house which paying monthly rent is not that easy due to the type of job I do not expect any new changes. Currently, I am a casual labourer the little capital I get I use on buying a few household items and the remaining amount I use on buying food at times."

"I believe my life will have improved in the next six months because my poultry farm will have grown and paid well. I will be adding my profits from the poultry business with the sales from milk in order to pay school fees for my daughter. I am glad I no longer have to do casual jobs in order to meet some of these goals."
