"Owning the pair of oxen has greatly improved my farming since I am able to prepare and cultivate much early than I used to do, which makes the biggest difference in my daily life. Initially, I used to own a pair but I sold them later on in order to clear school fees for my children so that they would be allowed back to school. Since then I have been hiring from my neighbors during the planting season which was very expensive to me. Sometimes I could not afford to cultivate my whole acreage because I wasn't able to meet the full cost of hiring the services. I had no option but to use the hoes by myself which was very tiresome and the harvest was just a handful. However, my life is currently different because, through this money, I managed to purchase the new pair of oxen which means I will no longer be hiring from anyone, instead, I will be hiring them at a fee. I will also be ploughing and cultivating my whole acreage and get plenty of harvests, which will ensure food security for my family."

This month's transfers was however not enough to set it up, so I decided to save it in a mobile savings platform to increase my loan limit so that I can borrow a decent amount towards the end of the month and set up the business."

"I spent my transfer on buying a cow. I have always wanted to invest in livestock because I know it requires very little resources to keep. When it reproduces, I will have a number which is a very good sign of wealth. I can be selling some of them when I am in financial need. I used part of the transfer as fare when I travelled home for buying of the cows and also gifted my mother some amount of money. It is a good practise in my a culture that when a son visits his mother, he can't leave her empty-handed. The rest of the money I used to buy food for my family."

"My expectation is that my life will be much better in the next six months because having recently cultivated some maize in my farm, I expect an abundant harvest. This means I will cease buying maize for consumption hence my daily budget will reduce. I also plan to sell some in order to get some capital to start a small grocery business. My income sources will be diversified hence will have enough to cater for my household needs. Besides, I believe I will have completed constructing the extra guest room to host my guests whenever they visit hence I will no longer shy away from inviting guests. Generally, my family wellbeing will have improved."
