"My biggest hardship has been the poor living conditions in the unfinished house I've been living in, we also don't have enough beddings and clothes. Not forgetting food because we're able to eat after we make and sell bricks. It's a slow business."

"I am a firewood vendor at Bamba market centre. This jobs earns me KES 100 per day which I mainly use it to purchase food for my family of 2. My desire was to start goat rearing activity as an alternative source of income for the family. After receiving my transfer I spent KES 12800 to purchase 4 goats to start the livestock rearing. I also purchased 70 building poles and 10 iron sheets for KES 17320 this was for the construction of a new house. Currently, the one I have is about to collapse because most poles have rotten. I also bought sufficient food for KES 3000 with part of the remaining amount. Lastly, I am planning to use the remaining amount to settle labour cost for the construction of a new house."

"I spent KES 10000 to purchase a bed and mattress, I was sleeping on a small traditional bed using old rags as beddings. It was not comfortable and always felt pains on my body after waking up which affected the performance of my day-to-day duties.I also used KES 10000 to clear the fees arrears for my child who is about to graduate secondary education. I am also planning to use the remaining amount to improve the condition of my house by putting up new roof, I will purchase 18 iron sheets, timbers, nails and paying labor cost. Currently, I am living in an old, rusty iron roofed house which leaks during the rain season."

"Since I got divorced from my husband many years ago, life has not been easy for me and my children. I remained with a huge responsibility of taking care of the kids. I now do a business of selling home baked banana cakes which we sell at the nearest market. This money is what supplements our lives whenever we are in need of money. I believe this money will help us a lot in finishing the house especially plastering and cementing the floor. We shall also buy good beddings, mattres and also add some money to the business in order to make more profits after increasing number of cakes made. I am very sure my children and grandchildren will be taken care of well."

"My aim is to finish up constructing the kitchen house. I am not yet done with the ground and I still require some money to be able to complete it. Other financial needs had to override its completion. The floor is dusty and not conducive to serve as a kitchen. Cleaning is also a big challenge. I will use approximately Kes 10000. The rest of the money will be used to pay for the school fees for my children who are in various schools."
