Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy when i received these Givedirectly funds. I could not believe it. I am thankful till today to what GiveDirectly has done in my home. I had never imagined all this happening to me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Most times when the rains were heavily falling i feared for our life as modt houses without cement outside end up falling. Today we have peace of mind knowimg no rains will lead to falling of my house. We also eat to the fullest nowadays
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my money to improve myhouse that i had already built. I bought 12 bags of cement, paid some people to go collect sand for me and also paid the builder to put a new wall and floor in my home. I also bought two blanket for myself and my children. I bought a water plastic dish and two bags of maize for food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Since I got divorced from my husband many years ago, life has not been easy for me and my children. I remained with a huge responsibility of taking care of the kids. I now do a business of selling home baked banana cakes which we sell at the nearest market. This money is what supplements our lives whenever we are in need of money. I believe this money will help us a lot in finishing the house especially plastering and cementing the floor. We shall also buy good beddings, mattres and also add some money to the business in order to make more profits after increasing number of cakes made. I am very sure my children and grandchildren will be taken care of well.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am very grateful to be around my children till this age. Some have gone to get married and I didn't know I would raise them better despite many dropping out of school. Seeing my children happy always remains best part of my day
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship for me will always be my divorce. It left me alone with kids to take care of and since I can't find a better job or piecework, I had to learn a skill to make money hence learning to make cakes. There is no one who assists me hence I have to always look out for myself as my children are poor too.
