"The moment I received the transfer I felt so happy. I remember it like yesterday. It was around 8am when I heard a ringtone message from my phone. I was doing my daily household chores. I didn't expected any messages from anyone. So I reluctantly check it thinking it was just messages from friends. I couldn't believe my eyes, it was message confirming that I have received money from GiveDirectly. I felt so overwhelmed, I immediately inform my spouse and he was so happy too. We knew we would be able to buy a dairy cow and cut the daily cost of buying milk. We planed everything and went to withdrew the money the same day. We are so grateful for the support."

"Give directly has really transformed the lives of different people since one is able to make own decisions concerning her transfers. The gesture of giving us unconditional money is what really impressed me since I know what is more pressing to me and can decide what to take care of first rather than being given food and its school fees that is troubling me. Currently I have not seen anything wrong with how the projects are done but I congratulate them for this noble venture,"

"" When God help me to get the money, the first thing is to improve my shop. Now, I am selling farming and house materia. I am taking the business serious because from it I can sustain myself. Secondly, I will go to the hospital to see about my eyes because it is deemed, not that I am bland but I can not see well. When my eyes are clear, it will help me a lot. I have my farmland along the road there but I can't work there now because of my eyes. I have rubber and and pineapple planted there. Thirdly, I want to sent my children to school. When they are educated, their future will be good because I will not live forever."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is the reduction of the huge debt I had in the previous college I graduated from back in 2018. This was a relief as I had been lobbying for support from my family members and neighbors towards offsetting it even though it wasn't forthcoming. The transfer made it easier for me to start concentrating on other projects that can as well improve my household's living standard that had been way too low as we had been stuck on one point for quite some time."

"After completing his secondary school studies, my son could not get immediate support from us that could have enabled him to pick his college studies. We kept promising him that things will soon get better, hoping to get some extra money that we were never sure of the source. We had been praying hard over it and we are finally glad to see our prayer answered by GiveDirectly. With the first transfer, I managed to obtain pieces of equipment necessary for his admission to the college worth KES6000, as he will be joining later this year. I decided to spend the other KES32000 on livestock after obtaining an in-calf heifer and a goat. We had also been buying milk whenever we don't get it from the immediate family members and I saw it good to invest in livestock with the hope that I will be selling the surplus in the future. With the remaining amount, I paid KES1000 on settling school fees for the younger kids currently in primary school and used the remaining KES7600 on foodstuff for the household."
