"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now sheltering in a better modern house with all my family members. I have been married for over ten years and I have been experiencing sorrow in my marriage. My children never had a permanent place to shelter every night and I used to imagine the struggle of exposing my eight little children at their age. Sleeping at their grandmother's and others at their friend's houses has really been stressing me as a parent. However, I had no otherwise because my house was very small and in a bad state and I was afraid one day it would collapse and become homeless. All these challenges were a result of I have been a housewife and solely depend on my spouse who earns KES 200 a day. I will forever be thankful to GiveDirectky for restoring my lost hopes and for making children healthy. In addition, we have an extra space where they can study and do their homework without any interference."

"If I'm successful to receive the cash transfer I plan to increase my farming and grow more product like pepper, cucumber, and banana; I am not educated and the same as my husband; our only source of income is farming. For the past years we have been producing only cassava and it is this cassava production we are able to sponsor our 7 children in school and the remaining 3 have not been able to start school, because the cassava production is not enough to cover all of them schooling. With the cash transfer we will be able to grow more produce that will be able to support all of them in school."

"After clearing the huge debt I had in the hospital, it was a relief to me as it has been one of the triggers of the stressful moments I was undergoing. The debt though was not the major one as I had been struggling as well to put up a new structure to replace the old kitchen that had been serving a lot of purposes despite its squeezed space. On the construction of a new one that is a bit spacious to completion is so fr the biggest difference in my daily life. My children currently enjoy the extra space where they can comfortably sit to complete their schools assignments every evening."

"On receiving the first transfer, I was glad to finally use it in funding the construction work that had been on a halt over the past year. I had to replace the poles that were already rotting. I spent a total of KES36000 in obtaining iron sheets, nails, building poles, and also paid the labor cost to complete the construction that had been brought to a standstill by the strings of demands from the school where my children attend. With the remaining KES18000, I obtained a heifer at KES15000, and also utensils since most of the initial ones were old, broken, and rusty on the broken parts."

"The challenges I'm facing now is money. I want to build a house which will bring joy to my family but I don't have the money to start the process. Although I make farm to sustain my family but the money I earn from the farm, I use some to buy food and use the balance for medication. I feel bad seeing myself in my husband's sister house bring lots of confusion between us."

"If I receive this money from Givedirectly I will use some to build my house and use the balance to start a business which will improve my livelihood. The house I live in now is a family house and I feel bad at times about the insults and confusion from other family members. Because of that, I spend most of my time on the Farm. The money I earn from the ground nut garden I make, I send some to my children in Monrovia for their schooling and use the balance to fix bread and sell it in order to sustain myself. But it is not enough to build a house and start a business that will enable me to maintain my family. I sent my children to live with my little sister because I couldn't maintain all of them."

"Being the 15th child of my father who's having twenty five (25) children and not being able to support me in school, my aunt Lucia Debleh took me into her house to take care of me and promised to send me to school unfortunately I was just living with her just to make sure I cooked, cleaned her children clothes and cleaned the house without sending me to school which led to me remaining in the FIRST GRADE CLASS but later return to my father to continue my studies unfortunately I couldn't due to the lack of financial support. I will used the money if selected to received transfer from Give Directly to support my child and myself in school and the remaining money will be used to start a business which will sustain us in the future."

"This was one of the best moments of my life. I was at home going about my daily duties when I received a message notification at about 9.30 a.m. I checked my phone and saw that I had received KES 55,000 from GiveDirectly. I was overwhelmed with joy and called my husband to inform him of the good news. I couldn't believe that I finally had the money to start the business I had been wishing for, for so long."
