How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am currently occupying one room in my family house. My children normally come from Monrovia to visit me and it has always beeb embarrassing that we all will sleep in one room. My new goal is to build a new house and free myself from embarrassment.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly is doing very well. Without Givedirectly my daughter couldn't attend this year. I am greatful and can proudly say they are doing well for us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my money to purchase zinc and currebtly moulding bricks to start my new construction. All along, I have been yiening to change from room to house, but there was no money. However, Givedirectly has done well for me and words are insufficient to express my gratitude to them for their assistance.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy when I received the message. I went right away to bed to have some rest and plan on what to use my money on. My children have been waiting for me to raise money to register them in school. I tried asking my neighbors to borrow money to pay my children tuitions but things didn't work out, till I received this money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm very much relaxed these days since I received this money. Because of this money. My children are in school and my business has improved by size. Life would have been difficult for me if I have not received this transferred. I'm very excited about my current situation.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of my money to pay my children school fees for the first semester. I bought new goods with the balance money and added it to my existing business while waiting on the second transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I receive this money from Givedirectly I will use some to build my house and use the balance to start a business which will improve my livelihood. The house I live in now is a family house and I feel bad at times about the insults and confusion from other family members. Because of that, I spend most of my time on the Farm. The money I earn from the ground nut garden I make, I send some to my children in Monrovia for their schooling and use the balance to fix bread and sell it in order to sustain myself. But it is not enough to build a house and start a business that will enable me to maintain my family. I sent my children to live with my little sister because I couldn't maintain all of them.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what has brought me joy and happiness is when my father recovered from his sick bed in the month of August 2021. His recovery has brought me so much joy and happiness because he's the only person that can stand up for us in any situation.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I'm facing now is money. I want to build my house and start a business which will bring so much joy to me but I don't have money. Although I make ground nuts garden to cater for my family, but the money I earn from the ground nuts garden I make is not enough to build a house and start a business. The house I live in now is a family house and I feel bad at times about the insults and palava from other family members. Because of that, I spent most of the time on the my Farm to avoid problems. The money I earn from the ground nut garden I make, I send some to my children in Monrovia for their schooling and used the balance to fix bread and sell it in order to sustain myself. I send my children to live with my little sister in Monrovia because I couldn't afford to maintain all of them.
