How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to fix my house because it not in a good condition anymore, I have been living in this house for over 5years now and I have not been able to recondition it because of lack of finance, I also want to keep supporting my seven children in school until they can graduate because I believe that they will help me in the future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by making sure that their recipients receive the transfers, they have good manner of approach during interviews also, they are also truthful in giving informations to their recipients about the program. I have not seen anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my second transfer to buy cements and other building materials to start my house project, I also paid some of my children school fees and the remaining amount was used to buy food for my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On December 10, 2021, I was cleaning my house during the morning hours when I heard a boy from our town saying that he has received money from GiveDirectly. I hurrily left the work I was doing and went to the network location to see whether I too will receive my transfer message from GiveDirectly, when I checked my account that day, I saw the money in my account and I felt so happy that day because it was a great help for my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before GiveDirectly came to this town, I have been hoping to fix my house, send my children to school and also buy matress for my room but I couldn't because of lack of money; but now that GiveDirectly has blessed me with the transfer, I was able to make most of my desires come to past and I am so happy for the changes.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my first transfer to buy cements and other building materials to start fixing my house because my house has been in a very bad condition for some time now but I didn't had the money to fix it. I also bought matress for my room so that I can sleep more comfortable, I sent one of my children to school, the remaining amount was used to buy food for my family and those that are working on my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I'm successful to receive the cash transfer I plan to increase my farming and grow more product like pepper, cucumber, and banana; I am not educated and the same as my husband; our only source of income is farming. For the past years we have been producing only cassava and it is this cassava production we are able to sponsor our 7 children in school and the remaining 3 have not been able to start school, because the cassava production is not enough to cover all of them schooling. With the cash transfer we will be able to grow more produce that will be able to support all of them in school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months , what has brought joy or happiness to me is the save delivery I undergo and the division of food from the government in May. I was happy because when I give birth in April there was no food in our house and that always kept me worry about my household our daily needs.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major challenge we are currently facing is cash to transport our goods, doing harvest season we have to take the produce to the market before attending to our daily needs, but sometime when we produce over five bags of cassava, to transport it to the market is difficult because, we will have to carry it to the market on our head and when get to market and all of the five bags are not bought we will have to used the little cash we got from the one we sold to transport it back to the village and with that we will be left with a very little amount that will only help to attended to our daily needs.
