"A year ago, I fell sick and I have not healed fully to go about my normal business. I was a vegetable vendor but due to my health condition, I closed down the business to stay at home until I recover. Since then, my husband has been the one supporting me financially to cater to medical treatment. This has been a challenge as sometimes I skip my monthly check-up due to the lack of money hence delaying my recovery."

Kahaso
received a $468 second payment.
"I spent part of my second transfer on purchasing several building materials such as bags of cement, sand, and the labor charge at a total of KES 40000. This was for the completion of the construction of a business store which I had earlier started and got stuck on the way. With the remaining amount of money, I paid school fees of KES 2000 for my two children who are in primary schools. Later on, I cleared the hospital bill for my son who has been ailing for quite some time. With the remaining amount of money, I purchased decent clothing and sufficient foodstuffs for my family. Since I'm jobless with a family of six it has been tough especially providing for our daily meals. I am so grateful that we no longer skip meals."

"Receiving this money will mean a better education for me. I had to differ from education course at Mount Kenya University. This was because my father had overwhelming responsibilities for my other siblings in secondary level. I have been engaging in a casual job of being a school messenger, but recently I secured a teaching job from a nearby junior school. I have worked for three months now but since I do not have the qualification as a prerequisite for the job the payment is very minimum. In a month I earn KES5000 which we end up consuming for food and other basic household needs. I have since been thinking to go back to school and have my course cleared and today I am supper excited that the dream will be realised. Therefore I intend to pay KES.80,000 to the school and use the remaining in purchasing food for my family."

"Towards the end of 2020, I bought a piece of land for KES 30,000. Since I depend on livestock keeping, it is very small to even plant-animal feeds forcing me to lease extra land for the same. Receiving this money will enable me to purchase an additional quarter acre at KES 60,000. This will relieve me from stress and the burden of purchasing livestock feeds plus the family's basic needs."
