"When I received my second transfer, I spent KES 30000 to pay for my spouse's medication, KES 2500 on food, and used the remaining 20000 to pay school fees for my son in college so that he would be allowed to sit for his end-of-semester examinations. My spouse became sick a few days before receiving our second transfer and I am glad that the transfer came in handy as it enabled him to seek medical attention on time. Even though he is still admitted, I am happy that GiveDirectly enabled us to seek treatments early before the situation could get worse."

"I was able to achieve my goals and acquire most of the items that I never thought would be possible for me to achieve on-time courtesy of GiveDirectly. With this, my life will never remain the same again and I give all credit to GiveDirectly. This was no different with other people since those who had no better houses have been brought to the same level as those who had decent houses."

"We had been living in a small portion of land and it came to a time when I sold all the livestock I had and used the money to buy two points of land so that we would have a place to plant maize for our consumption so that we would not be buying maize flour throughout the year. This made me start buying milk daily and I usually spend KES 60 on a liter. This is usually expensive to me as a way of curbing this in the future, I decided to buy a heifer worth KES 26000 after receiving our second transfer. Also, I spent KES 20000 building an iron-roofed kitchen for the family and used the remaining KES 7000 on food and medication since I was not feeling well. Building a more decent kitchen was a priority to me since the one we were using was grass thatched and the roof had started leaking whenever it rained."

"When I received my second transfer, I spent the all amount to extend our daughter's room and to cement the floors of our kitchen. I settled on this since the bedroom was small as it can accommodate two beds only and due to this, two of them had to sleep in the sitting room. I was not happy with this arrangement since they would at times have to sleep late waiting for people to be done eating or with the discussion they're having. In addition, the walls of our kitchen are made of timber, and smearing mud when tidying up the floor had started attracting termites. I am happy that it will last longer than I had imagined and cleaning it is now easier and sell time-consuming."

"I had never seen or heard of an organization that gives out financial aid that is not a loan until the day I heard about GiveDirectly and experienced it first hand. I believe that this is what they do best and I do not see anything that they do not do well. This is because, with cash, one can be able to accomplish most things in life when they have a good plan."

"The roof of my Kitchen was tattered out, It had rusted, more so it was leaking too during the rainy season, thus upon receiving my second transfer I prioritized building a decent house, therefore, I used KES 60,000 in finishing the project, I had committed an extra five thousand from the first transfer. I am so happy and proud that I was able to achieve my goals in a short time."

"Yes after completing my transfers, I developed a goal which was to own livestock. The goats would be of great help to me because normally they reproduce twice a year and their offspring mature faster. Therefore since the main challenge I was experiencing was paying school fees for my kids, I felt the goats would be of great help. I am still optimistic that I will own them soon."
