"When I received my initial transfer, I did part payment of my 5 children's tuition and started a big cassava garden. Four of my children stay with my late husband's brother so I sent 16,000 towards their tuition. I also hired 10 manpower to brush my garden and used 7,000 to settle my debt and the rest was used on food. Similarly, I have planned to complete my children's school fees and hire another contractor to complete my cassava garden project."

"Upon cashing out my transfer, I have decided to construct a business shop and buy goods to sell. I used a portion of my initial transfer to do part payment of my children's tuition. I have four children and 10,000 was used towards my 19 year-old daughter's school while 6000 was sent to my 14 year-old son who is living with his grandmother. I will spend a similar amount upon the second cashout to complete their yearly payment and purchase food for the house while the balance will be used to start my shop construction and buy some goods."

"I spent most of the transfer which was KES 30000 on renovating and improving my house because it had been in a very poor state and condition, with old and worn out building materials which used to pose safety risks since it seemed like it could collapse anytime. This used to be the case because the only source of income I depended on was my wine tapping and selling business whose hardly enough income used to be shared among my family's immediate needs as well as my children's school fees. Therefore, I couldn't afford to have my house repaired or renovated. However, with the coming of GiveDirectly, good help came to me and I am grateful that my house is in a very good condition now and my family has a better place to sleep and there will be no safety risks for a long time. I also spent KES 13000 on buying an additional cow to partner with the one that I had bought with the first transfer in ploughing because it is more effective with two cows than one. I will be using these cows to plough my own land as well as for others at a fee which will raise me some income to help me to meet my family's immediate needs. This income will also complement the produce that I will get from my farm. I am so grateful for I now have something that will keep me and my family going for long, all thanks to GiveDirectly."

"Currently, I do carpentry work which is my main source of income. Though we all depend on this, it is not sufficient to sustain us. With Kshs.12,500 I bought thirty-two chickens which currently lay eggs and can sell them every week hence allowing me to save for other projects that I have. With Kshs.22,000 I paid college fees for my wife who is pursuing education in a Technical Institute. With the remaining amount, I used to buy food for my household members."

"In my opinion, Givedirectly made everyone in my village acquire what they had always wished to but due to financial constraints, we could not afford it. In addition, all the processes were adhered to as we had been informed by the officers. I do not see what Givedirectly didn't do well."

"In my opinion, most households appreciated all the work done by Givedirectly in all stages of enrollment and also the fact that they ensured equality to everyone. On the other hand, I have never heard anyone complain of dissatisfaction."
