"My main goal was to graduate and at least have a TSC number before the end of this year so that looking for a job will not be difficult for me. Having KES 12000 school fees areas that I am to pay before going for teaching practice when the schools reopen is so far the biggest difference in my life. This is because the transfer enabled me to pay most of my school fees and due to this, I am hopeful of graduating since finances were my major obstacles. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for supporting me to achieve this goal."

"I am into the business of selling wooden clubs in the village, I am married and blessed with one child, when I was promised the unconditional transfer, I opted to buy a dairy cow to cut down on the cost of buying milk daily with KES 30,000, I then used KES 5000 in buying sofa set seats. Lastly, I used the remaining amount in buying clothes and foodstuffs. I was unable to buy all this due to unreliable sources of income thus I am so grateful for the support that lifted my living standard in a short time."

"I spent KES 6,000 to pay debt that I had borrowed from a friend. I had always wished to settle this but I had no money. I feel so relieved now since I do not have any debt pending. I spent KES 22,000 to build a spacious house for my goats. I have a project of goats rearing and the housing was one of my big challenge. Goats need a spacious and good house. I had build one but it was so small and the were squeezed. I used the transfer on purchasing building materials and build a better. The rest of the money I spent on food, clothes and household items which we were lacking. I am so grateful for the support because GiveDirectly has improved our living standards and enabled us to fulfilled our dreams."

"I spent KES 52,000 to purchased building materials and build a spacious and better kitchen house. Part of this material I used it to build a poultry house. I used to cook in a small kitchen house which we could squeeze ourselves in, the house was so small and there was no space to store some of the kitchen equipment. This was so demoralizing and stressful. I had always wished to own a spacious one but I did not had the money to buy the building materials. I build a poultry house and this has given me hope to start my dream project of poultry keeping. This will earn me some income through the sales of eggs. Currently the house is done yet to buy the hens. The rest of the money I bought food and other household items. I am so grateful for the support because GiveDirectly has changed our living standards."

"I spent KES 40,000 on completing the construction of my new house that I started using my savings. I used the money to buy tiles and ceiling. The construction had stop at some point since I had exhausted my savings. When I received the transfer from GiveDirectly I decided to complete the remaining parts and now I live in a better and decent which is free from dust. I spent KES 3.000 on purchasing one sack of maize. The rest of the money I spent on mattresses, bed and clothes for my children. I am so grateful for the support because GiveDirectly has changed our living standards to be much better."

"I spent KES 25000 of my recent transfer to complete the payment for a piece of land that I had bought before. I had bought three points of an acre with some of my savings but I had not completed making the payment. I decided to buy the land because the one that I have is small and not enough to do farming. I am still planning on whether the piece of land that I bought is going to be purely for farming or I can move there with my family. I used the remaining amount on paying for my college fees and on paying the school fees arrears that I was still owing my former secondary school. I was still in college and I had lacked money for paying for my fees. My secondary school certificate had also been withheld at my school because I had not cleared the arrears that I was still owing them. I wanted to finish college and to pay for the arrears so that I could get my certificates. I wanted to apply for a job opening at GiveDirectly. I am glad that I got the certificates and I was able to do so. Thank you so much GiveDirectly for your support."

"GiveDirectly did well by deciding to move from one house to house and enrolling people at their homes. They also did well by giving everyone in the community money so that they could plan on their own how to spend it. They do not dictate to you how to use it as long as you use it in a good way. I hence do not see anything wrong with the way they do their work. I urge them to keep up the good work."
