"Receiving this money means I will buy land where I can establish my home. I am a single mother raising a child living with a disability. It means that her needs are more than normal, including constant medication and higher nutrition requirements. I have to buy milk and maize every day because I am restricted yo the farm on my brother's farm. I will have to spend about KES 30,000 on buying the parcel of land. Daily expenditure is about KES 200 per day that I get from running a grocery and making ropes. I need to buy a dairy cow at bout KES 30,00 to help me to generate an income the sale of milk."

"Receiving this money means that I will buy a dairy cow to acquire a source of income. Selling milk will give me about KES 120 per day. This will enable me to meet my daily household needs like food and personal care items. I also hope to start a new business, selling maize in a nearby market. This will further generate income as I will make a profit of about KES 3600 per week."

"I have always had an intention of renovating my existing old house to a better structure. The current house I reside in with my family is old and worn out and always stressed up during the rainy season as water seeps from the roof. This creates unfavorable living conditions for my family. To get out of this crisis, I plan to utilize KES 30000 to modernize my house to a better one that will accommodate my family comfortably. The remaining amount will be invested in my children educational needs."

"The essence of sending us the money directly was well thought of. This money has helped us a lot to settle different needs that we were having. As at now we are happy because we settled a good number of the needs which were bothering us. In my opinion, I feel some of the policies of the organization should be amended. The criteria of registering only the people who have houses should be revised because some deserving people were left out yet it wasn’t their fault not to have houses but poverty is the one which has made them unable to have the houses. Therefore I urge if possible some investigations to be done to determine the reason as to why someone doesn’t have a house."

"GiveDirectly did so well by holding our hands and empower us from the lowest level of life we were in to a good life standard where we can stand on our feet. It helped us to build houses, buy livestock as well as pay school fees for our children. In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well and it has no fault at all in fact I would recommend it to come again for a third time if possible."
