"Receiving this money means that I shall be able to pay fees to my grandchildren and college fees to one of them who have been doing odd jobs after I struggled to pay his frees through to high school. Givedirectly transfer has made me feel like the dreams I had for my family is restored and the second transfer will help me in buying a generator that I would use to pump water to my vegetables so that I be able to farm all year round unlike last year that dry season saw all my vegetables dry up. "The biggest hardship I we have faced in life is lack of clean water for our household use. On daily basis, I travel about 4 kilometres in search of water. To worsen the situation, I have to carry a 20 litre jerrycan on my back. Accordingly, I am worried that I may experience some back or chest problems in future due to the tedious practice."

"Receiving this money means earning more income so I can guarantee a better life for me and my family. I plan to buy a water pump to help me irrigate my farm on which I have planted tomatoes, okra and kales. This will help me increase my yield and become a supplier in my village and the nearby markets in Bamba and Mariango."

"I usually wake up early in the morning at 4:00am to fetch water. There is water rationing in my area and you have to wake up early to avoid long queues. After finishing fetching water I wake my children up at 5:00am and prepare breakfast for them and leave for school. I then arrange my house, take breakfast and wash my clothes. After I have finished washing my clothes, I normally go to my shop where I have a salon business. I wait for clients to come and by 3:00pm I go back to my house to wait for my children to come back to school.
On weekends I visit my friends and on Sunday I go to church."
