"I spent my second transfer on building a house. A descent iron-roofed house has many benefits. It is good to live in, descent when having visitors and good in harvesting rainwater for domestic use. For the first time in a long time, I hosted my friends from my village on the new year's day of the year 2020. We made merry and set out our targets to work on as a group of friends. I was comfortable hosting the meeting here because I had completed the house. I then build a restaurant in a nearby shopping center. It is generating a good income per day that goes a long way in our daily household expanditure."

"I have been living in this village for close to ten years and all this time I have always wanted to have and rear a cow. This has not been possible with financial constraints and other pressing needs. This was until I got my first transfer. I bought a cow that is currently lactating and the milk thereof is used at home. This was a dream come true and not only do I have just one but two cows. I am also happy that I enjoy drinking clean water from a water tank that I bought. Before, I was forced to use water from a water pond which was really unhealthy and posed health challenges. I am less worried now that I store the rainwater which is cleaner than pond water."

"I would wish to leave in a clean environment, thus in the next six months, I want to finish plastering my house. Having plastered my home will enable will give me a lot of peace simply because I would have achieved my long term goal. During rainy seasons, it is always not easy on our side because water usually out of the floor and this is not good for our health. I frequently suffer from chest pain during this season, therefore once I plaster my house I will never suffer from such diseases any ore,"

"My life is currently different in that I have a running business. When I received my first transfer, I was able to purchase two donkeys and a cart for use for transport. I am glad that I make averagely KSh. 500 per trip to transport farm produce or water. The income from the transport business helps us in meeting all our family's daily needs. I am also glad that my two children joined high school with minimal challenge as the second transfer paid all my children's school fees and all materials needed when joining high school. I honestly do not know how I would have managed without these transfers. I will forever be grateful for GIveDirectly!"
