Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so excited the moment I received the money from GiveDirectly. It was early in the morning that day and on reading the message from GiveDirectly, I started calling my friends so that we could celebrate together. I then took sometime before I could withdraw my money since I had already made up my mind on how best I was going to utilize the money si received from GiveDirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the water tank that I was able to buy with the transfer. I never thought I could buy one anytime soon but GiveDirectly enabled me realize this dream in time. I feel so proud that I have been able to buy a water tank and avoided the mess of having to drink dirty water during particular times of the year which exposed us to various water borne diseases.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used KES 33000 of my first transfer to buy a water tank and used the remaining KES 20000 to improve my dairy unit. I never thought I could accomplish these two plans anytime soon considering my limited sources of income. It is GiveDirectly that made me realize these dreams earlier than I had expected. I now have a water tank which is a quarantee that we will always have clean drinking water all year round and be safe from the risk of contracting water borne diseases. The improved dairy unit will also see me practice advanced dairy farming and improve my level of income as well and earn more income for my family that will improve our living standards as well.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Water security has always been my priority. I have always desired to buy a 10,000 liters water tank which costs approximately 64,000 shillings. Receiving this money will enable me to afford the tank since i will only top Shs.9000 to my first transfer.
What is the happiest part of your day?
As a teacher, the happiest part of my day is in the morning when I am with my students. My happiness is as a result of a renewed energy from the previous day's work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I live in an arid semi arid area. This means that water availability is a challenge for us. My biggest worry is that my family is exposed to health risks during dry seasons when we have to rely on water pans used by all (animals included).
