Everline
received a $500 second payment.
"I spent part of my second transfer on investing in a coffee plantation. After three years' time, I expect to sell the products hence getting profit from it. Besides, I also constructed a large house that I divided into three segments which included: a kitchen, cowshed, and chicken coop thus having all those under the same roof. This has gone a long way in protecting my livestock from perennial thieves."

Solomon
received a $501 second payment.
"Receiving the second transfer from GiveDirectly was a great blessing to my family, It really brought us a lot of changes which we are still enjoying to date. It was then when my wife was admitted to the hospital and I had to use part of the money on settling the hospital bill. With the remaining amount, I constructed a chicken coop as I was starting a poultry project and used the last bit of it on completion of the payment of a piece of land we were buying."

Chelangat
received a $519 initial payment.
"I spent the money I received on the first transfer on buying a motorcycle. My husband is a veterinary practitioner. He covers long distances everyday to visit farms. He used to take a motorcycle taxi which is very expensive given that he travels everyday. We are so glad to have bought him his own. I then bought a heifer and chickens to keep. I also bought some furniture for the house."

Gilbert
received a $502 second payment.
"I spent a huge amount of the second transfer to buy two dairy cows for rearing. I have been rearing my family's livestock and depended on them for a while now. I am glad that part of what I rear is indeed mine. I also bought some chicken since I had already built a poultry house using the first transfer."

Rael

"I have been able to start a poultry keeping project over the last four months. It is through these transfers that I was able to start a poultry keeping project where I bought chicken with part of the transfers received each month. I am looking forward to even improving this in the long run since it is of great help to me and my family in terms of meeting the cost of the basic household needs."

Chepngeno

"My life is different than how it was before because I have been able to expand my dairy farming project. Due to this, I have been able to provide for my family on time unlike before. Also, I have started saving some money that I am intending to use in starting my poultry project. I already have a decent chicken coop and I am intending to raise it after this rainy season."

Betty
received a $505 second payment.
"We mainly depend on small scale subsistence farming to meet most of our needs such as school fees payment and food for my
family. For quite a while now, the farms haven't been producing well and hence little income from the sale of the farm produce. My children were at the brink of being sent home for school fees because I had some arrears pending for my two children. I am glad that the transfers came at the nick of time and I was able to clear the arrears. I am happy now that I do not need to worry that they would be sent home. Had I not received these transfers, I would have also invested in the livestock. I am now a proud owner of a cow, two sheep and a chicken, which already has started laying eggs. In the near future, I am sure they would have reproduced."

Kadzo
received a $526 initial payment.
"I spent part of my first transfer on buying some building materials such as iron sheets, building poles ad nails. I wanted to construct a special for my chicken because they have. I then bought some bags of cement and sand, and some bricks purposely for the renovation of my house. I wanted it to be decent and permanent. I then bought some new clothes for my children and mine. I then cleared school fees for my daughter and bought him some stationery that he was lacking. The remaining amount of money, I bought some enough foodstuffs for my family and some household items such as jerricans, utensils and many more."
